Not bad at all. I kept thinking about all the pantiless japanese girls in the crowd, ready to be groped.

I only listen to Japanese ska bands who play 70's BTO covers.

Ah, Mancini... the mascot's best friend

That was super fun. The other clips from them are more hit and miss, but more hit than miss.

So is this a Japanese ska band who is playing a funk rendition of The Baby Elephant Walk or is this just a Japanese funk band described by someone who thinks a horn section means ska?

Henry Mancini is smiling in his grave.

That, or I'll just hang out with the creepy gay guy riding the elevator all day long wearing nothing but bike shorts and smelling of Lipton's soup mix....

I surprisingly enjoyed that alot. Jesse the body sure let himself go.

Well... They are called the Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra, and they started out playing lots of ska, anyway. Also, in Japan, you have to learn not to let words get attached to meanings. See Also: High Tension / Low Tension / My Car / No!! Parking...

Been listening to these guys for quite a while - they're excellent.

Is it bad that I can't speak Japanese, have never been to Japan, but could name you at least 5 more Japanese ska bands without even trying?

/Kemuri's the best of the bunch
//Used to run a ska/punk website in college
///Good thing the RIAA didn't care about music downloading then

I'd actually say it's a Japanese Soul band doing James Brown style funk and subby is too young to have those descriptors in is musical vocabulary

Anyone else think the bandleader wasn't wearing pants for a second? That threw the hell out of me...

Saw these guys at Bonnaroo a few years ago and they blew me away. High energy, great music and great time!

Well the Japanese sure seemed to have grasped ska's ability to take a group of talented musicians and turn them into a novelty song spewing machine. Can't wait to hear their ironic ska cover of an 80s one hit wonder.

That was good and unexpected. When I read the headline I expected these 19 year old girls in Oreska Band (new window) from Japan. They were awesome at the Warped Tour.

I was there that year, my buddy saw those guys. I, unfortunately, was passed out at my campsite, and all I heard about the rest of the weekend was how I missed those guys putting on a helluva show.

Nice.

That was pretty sweet.

/Loves it when the horn section out numbers or equals the rest of the band
//Now you're lucky if you get 2 horns to a ska band...
