Well, to be fair, Johnny Depp has made a career out of playing some pretty weird characters

I don't think Frank Stallone is up to anything this weekend. Why not him?

yah it'd be cool to see if he can play sleazy instead of always playing a clueless half-wit

Am I the only one who sees this as brilliant casting?

I was flipping through channels and saw Motley Crue on Larry King, ... after doing a double take I stopped down to watch the trainwreck. Tommy Lee is borderline retarded. Every phrase muttered out of his mouth started with "Dude" or "Bro", and immediately following that something was described as awesome, gnarly, filthy or sick.

I vote for Peter O'Toole.

So, a sleazy clueless half-wit? This is Tommy Lee that we're discussing here.

Yeah, and dammit, we'll probably never see his Sancho.

The character, that is.

The dude from "Tales from the Crypt" would play Mick Mars!

wouldn't Depp have to get strung out for a decade or two (or three/four) to prepare for that roll

i believe their new album sold over a million copies in its first two weeks out. most bands cant do that in a year or their career. you need to get it they are going to be around well after we are gone.

Are you talking about cockroaches or Motley Crue?

After reading a July 2, 2008 newsdaily.com article discussing the 1st week of sales, I'm going to disagree :

Motley Crue's autobiographical "Saints of Los Angeles," the group's ninth release in 27 years, sold 99,000 copies.

That is, unless they sold 901,000 in week 2. I could be wrong.

Not me, mine is Richard Grieco.

The new CD kicks ass by the way.

Must not have been to one of the sold out venues they played on their last tour. If you don't like them that is your right but they still play major arenas and fill them. It is far from over for them. Their biggest enemy has always been themselves but then if it wasn't then it wouldn't be Motley Crue.

This FTW.

Saw MC on their last tour and they could still rock, and I'm not even a fan.

Hey look, it's heavymetal...the poster child for poor taste in music. It's a crappy hairband thread, where ya been?

Tom what are you thinking? Johnny Depp plays guitar.

look it up

At the Poison/Dokken/Sebastian Bach concert, very large crowd. Caught one of CC's picks.

Criticizing my musical tatses, kind of like the pot calling the kettle black.

I think you have to be an especially interesting character to get that honor. Not a drummer from a mediocre hair band famous for banging some bimbo on tape.

Crude: Nah...Depp is too old. Ashton Kutcher FTW.

That actually makes sense, since Johnny is, like, a foot shorter than Tommy.

I remember reading where Heather Mills wanted Reese Witherspoon to play her in Heather's biopic. I always thought Sarah Chalke from "Scrubs" looked like a prettier, nicer, saner, more talented, less blood-sucking Heather. But if we're lucky, this is just something we'll never have to endure.
