Who arranges security for presidential candidates/Senators/VIPs visiting areas like Afghanistan? Is it the campaign, or a Pentagon/DoD/Secret Service contract?

Unsourced comment aside, I dont think there's very many people who would be upset about a private security company being used to protect VIPs. Actually, that seems like exactly the kind of thing they should be doing. It's all the other stuff Blackwater has been tasked to do in Iraq that's the problem.

He has stated he would investigate them, and since he has already stated that investigating Bush for war crimes isn't off the table, I would assume investigating the abuse of private contractors isn't either.

He has already made statements wanting an investigation, and he most likely will investigate once they are out of Iraq. If he is too vocal now, who knows what these people will do.
