sorry. McCain wasn't on the Democratic primary ballot.

log_jammin [TotalFark] 2008-07-26 05:05:23 AM
She said she made the comments backing McCain during an emotional time shortly after Clinton dropped out of the race and as a first-time delegate was unfamiliar with party rules.

I would comment on that but then I'd be accused of hating women

JohnnyC 2008-07-26 05:05:43 AM
She kind of made that decision on her own when she said that if it wasn't Hillary, she was going for McCain. I mean... what were they supposed to do with her?

DrBenway [TotalFark] 2008-07-26 06:09:22 AM
"Obvious" for the story? Absolutely. It would be rather odd having McCain delegates at the Democrat's convention, and I don't anticipate any Obama delegates at the Republican convention, either.

The kind of rightwing mindset that says I should be allowed to keep my cellphone on during takeoffs and landings because I'm talking to my son who is defending our freedoms IN IRAQ.

You could comment that most Clinton supporters seem "unfamiliar with party rules" instead. winnar take all lolz.

I'm a woman, so I'll say some things for you if you want:

I really wish second wave feminists would just buy a farking support bra and be done with it. Really, I do. There is nothing in the world like listening to a bunch of women with excellent educations complain about how marginalized and oppressed they are, and how "angry" they feel.

chipspastic 2008-07-26 06:49:38 AM
morning_foil: I agree with their decision. She was elected to represent her district as a pledged delegate at the DNC. She should have known the rules and responsibilities associated with the position, even before she was elected.

But then again, ignorance of the rules hasn't really stopped any other elected official. I mean, just look at the current federal administration.

Come on. I don't think the current administration even cares about the rules.

Look the Supreme Court has ruled that political parties are private organizations that can make up their own rules and secret handshakes.

So, technically the choice of candidate will be a private deification.

I mean nomination.

/...or did I?

Rethorn 2008-07-26 06:54:08 AM
And while its mentioned in the thread, what the hell does the liberal hate cliche even mean?

Does it mean you hate liberals? Does it mean you are a liberal who hates? Does it mean that you hate liberally? I think that everyone is guilty of "liberal hate" at one point or another. Hell, I liberally hate whoever came up with that stupid cliche.

the argument could be made that way.
The June TFA was on how they were going to take away Bartoshevich's credentials. This TFA is on how they took away her credentials her.

Its thin, but it could be made.

Funny, if a conservative isn't "tolerant" of something they disagree with liberal waant to send the to "diversity training" or "sensitivity training". WTF.Does being tolerant mean tolerant of everything except that which you disagree with.

I am a big on differng opinions. We all have good ideas. Personally I think both sides are fairly douchey. This time a liberal was my target. You should see me crawl up RLSM or TBB. They are as bad or worse than most liberals. If someone says something that makes you think it is a good thing even if you decide you disagree with it. Sometimes just the point of considering another persons point of veiw is a good idea.

democrooks. Thats a good one. Yeah Dems are pretty bad what with the party rules. Not like the current administration with its war crimes and spying and half of them set to be put on trial.

Ace Frehley's Ghost 2008-07-26 09:30:14 AM
Stupid man world! All those mean men ousting her from the delegation like that and then going on to replace her with one of their own!

Oh, wait...

FTA: "You reached right back and hugged them. I have a problem with that," committee member Dottie LeClaire responded.

The committee accepted a challenge that stated Bartoshevich violated rules requiring delegates to support the party's nominee and be faithful to the party. Bartoshevich will be replaced by Marilyn Nemeth of Racine, who finished second to Bartoshevich in the delegate election earlier this year.

Um I think you missed the point. The point was Tolerance means stuff you don't like. Douche. I am an intolerant prick. I admit I can't stand overeaching government, douchey liberals, holier than thou conservatives. But if you want to preach tolerance practice it. Douche

kuhns_m: close-minded, intolerant Republicans But, it's actually in their charter that one can not actively support the opposition's campaign, either actively or verbally. This lady decided that throwing her support to McCain wasn't enough. She had to say it in front of reporters and break her work contract!
