i thought she was a coont - that's what her husband called her.

MorrisBird [TotalFark] 2008-07-25 09:00:03 PM
I thought she stole drugs from her charities.

nekom [TotalFark] 2008-07-25 09:02:05 PM
That was actually a pretty interesting read, didn't know all that, assuming it's true.

the eidolon 2008-07-25 09:03:40 PM
Well, she's never killed anyone in a car wreck, so she's got that going for her.

MorrisBird [TotalFark] 2008-07-25 09:08:28 PM
the eidolon: Well, she's never killed anyone in a car wreck, so she's got that going for her.

Which is nice.

Agreed. It's nice to get to hear the positive stuff, not just the negative.

HansensDisease [TotalFark] 2008-07-25 09:10:19 PM
Strangely there's no mention of her stealing Percocet and Vicodin^ from her charity.
Or the fact that she and Johnny-boy cheated on his badly injured first wife^.

I guess you shouldn't know those things.

But at least there was no rumor about a non-existent tape at a non-existent event in which she may have uttered the phrase "why'd he". Which means that it's OK that the librul media™ is covering up for her.

amo [TotalFark] 2008-07-25 09:11:13 PM
She may be a fantastic humanitarian and a wonderful human being, but subby forgot one thing: she's not running for the Office of the President. Who the hell cares what she does with her free time?

Puke 2008-07-25 09:27:01 PM
Good, she can go help the humanitarian crises that her war-monger husband will likely cause.

BooBoo23 [TotalFark] 2008-07-25 09:27:50 PM
Sounds like a great lady, with a long record of doing the right thing. I bet she's really an amazing person.

I'm still not gonna vote for her husband, though.

robsul82 [TotalFark] 2008-07-25 09:30:19 PM
Wow, compared to all the things the liberal media that's horribly biased for Obama DOESN'T think you should know about Cindy McCain...

Why?

No. The thing is we ALREADY knew these things. Now we get o read (well... I don't care enough to read them myself) OTHER things about her.

It's really OK for the world to NOT be all black and white. Really.

Mmm, lots of smell of death in that piece.

I didn't know she started seeing McCain before his divorce.

That could be the greatest moment in Presidential Debates ever. McCain answers a question about women's issues and, for a follow-up question, Obama asks McCain: "Did you really call your wife a coont?"

no (nsfw language, obviously). and it wasn't even said during a presidential debate. TheOther is an utter failure on this one. i, for one, am shocked

Good for her.

I was buying into the article, then I got to the last line:

And in some future crisis or genocide, it might matter greatly to have a first lady who knows the smell of death.

WTF? Vote for McCain because his wife knows "the smell of death?"

Pretty much killed any credibility you have to present a compelling argument with that inanity, author.

Another swing and a miss for McCain handlers

tallguywithglasseson [TotalFark] 2008-07-26 01:01:12 AM
Snarfangel: Meh, I've had better.

Yeah, but Guinness is still good. I know it's huge and ubiquitous, but that doesn't change the fact that it's tasty.

/Though granted, I tend to prefer milk stouts to Irish stouts.

I like Murphy's Irish stout as much or more than Guinness.

I've had some pretty good microbrew porters, too.

Porters are really hit-or-miss with microbrews. There's a brewpub in Eau Claire (WI) that has a pretty damn good one but a lot of the bottled stuff I've bought at the stores has been average to crappy.

However, a porter - Samuel Smith's Taddy Porter, to be precise - is my favorite beer.

Totally, that took the article from "nice article about why Cindy McCain is more than just a vapid heiress pill popping trophy wife, in fact she's quite impressive", to "THIS IS A STUPID PRO-REPUBLICAN OPINION PIECE" in one foul sentence.

Wow, the liberal Washington Post is saying something positive about the McCain family. I bet the right-wings heads are exploding comprehending this.

Even though I do not support McCain for president, you still gotta respect Cindy McCain for doing all of that work without expecting political gain.

Huh.

Doesn't matter. Limbaugh told me drug addicts should be locked up and key thrown away. Does McCain think she knows better than Limbaugh?

The Icelander: Yeah, and Mr. John McCain called her a coont and a trollop. What a douchebag.

Actually, the only "douchebags" I'm seeing are the imbeciles that insist on repeating unsubstantiated rumors as though they were proven facts. It's stupid when rednecks do it to Obama over the "secret muslim" crap, and it's stupid when people like you do it over the "McCain called his wife a c**t" story.

Factory Refurbished: So the LA Times, which was the source in your second link, is not the mass media?

According to Pew less than 40% of Americans read any part of any newspaper. The number who read every article in the politics section of a paper outside of their local market is incredibly small.

/Protip: most people don't live in Los Angeles.

What out-of-city newspapers do you read cover-to-cover, Clyde?

DNRTFA. I know she's a lying, sexless, drug-addicted, obstruction-of-justice-obstetrician spoiled rich husband-hating coont who pancakes on makeup like a trollop, and who is a trophy-wife parasite of a senile geriatric septigenarian with delusions of adequacy for the most powerful job in the world. Did TFA add to that?

Al Hashshashin 2008-07-26 01:54:08 AM
That was quite an article.

Not too shabby for a sheltered rich biatch. She seems to have led quite an accomplished life and has apparently got quite a set of balls on her.

Maybe the Republicans should have nominated her.

/interesting article
/except it wasn't quite clear whether she stole the pain killers from the Rwanda babies or the Congo babies.

Factory Refurbished 2008-07-26 01:56:20 AM
HansensDisease

Yeah, you obviously don't understand what the term "mass media" refers to.

I suggest you get on that.

For the record the LA TImes is the second-largest metropolitan newspaper in the United States and the fourth-most widely distributed newspaper in the United States. And yes, Virginia, that would qualify as mass media.

/that's all you get
//don't feed the trolls after midnight

syrynxx [TotalFark] 2008-07-26 02:04:25 AM
Wow - Rwanda. No oil there, so atrocities go unnoticed.

"A woman I met was gang-raped [during the genocide], her throat was slit, she lost her whole family, but was willing to forgive. "

You'd think a woman who'd seen that, with a husband who's been tortured by 'the Gooks', would be against torture which includes waterboarding. Because seriously - if she can't convince her husband that killing, torturing, gang-raping, throat-slitting etc. is wrong - then what the hell use is she?

US troops have gang-raped a 14-yr-old Iraqi girl, then murdered her family - this is fact corraborated by US troop testimony. The surge is working.
