there was absolutely nothing in his prayer that is in any way controversial. if george bush himself had written it and placed it between the stones, i'd simply be impressed if he didn't write it in crayon. but as to the contents, i wouldn't care.

I have a feeling that this might not be too far from the marker on what kind of response this prayer will get. I don't know if I'm more amused or frightened by the fact that we're just a lapel pin away from actually having real lolcandidates in an lolelection.

With all due apologies for this-ing, but THIS. I'm an agnostic-going-on-atheist and my first reaction to the idea that somebody pulled a prayer out of the Western Wall (I guess 'Wailing Wall' is no longer considered correct? Obviously, I don't keep up with these things.) was to be horrified at the lack of respect being paid to the tradition of the wall. I'd imagine a seminary would frown on these kind of shenanigans.
