WTF? I don't have any my old school papers either... and I am pretty sure that my old professors from 15 years ago don't still have copies either.

I would think that the Republicans would be celebrating their luck with this, and just fabricate a sufficiently incendiary screed and release it as the real thing.

Unfortunately for Republicans, Encyclopedia Brown would use logic and reasoning to crack the case, and they would never be caught dead performing such dark arts.

Skleenar 2008-07-24 03:14:50 PM
I have heard that some Republican operatives have a copy of the paper and that it includes a passage where Obama calls Kruschev "whitey".

I still have my undergrad Philosophy thesis. But it was an independent effort (not the result of a class) and I got honors. I had to defend it in front of a "tribunal" of department profs. You can be damned sure I kept it after all that.

I minored in Poli Sci and couldn't even tell you want my Senior Seminar paper was even about.

But enough about me....

NON STORY

I do. It would be a fun read. But I'm not the least bit surprised that it doesn't exist anymore.

Sounds like the prof liked it, though.

Obama has a sword from a civil war general and engraved on the sword it says that it is from the first battle of Bull Run, 1861.

How do you know its fake?

Wow. I can see why we overlooked the "Obama leads by 13 when all four major candidates are included" story to focus on this. BIG news.

Because when the first battle of Bull Run was fought they didn't know that there was going to be a second.

I wrote a cost-benefit analysis of speed limits that I thought was pretty good. It died an undignified electronic death when the hard drive on my XT crapped out. Then the dinosaurs came.

However, the sword COULD have been engraved after the war. There are no specifics as to whether or not the sword was owned by the general after the war.

I got my MA in 1990, and I MIGHT have a copy of my thesis sitting around under a pile of stuff in my office. There's probably an electronic copy, but if so, it's on a Mac-formatted floppy that was last accessed, oh, in about 1992, so good luck getting a file off of that.

Dude seriously WTF 2008-07-24 03:41:12 PM
In other news, Fox confirmed that there in no sign of refrigerator art that a young Barry 'Hussein' Obama drew in fourth grade. Critisicm of the senator has increased because of his alleged anti-feminist stance in which he may have scrawled comments such as "Janit [sic] has cooties"

So if they do find it what will that change? Obama is 46 years old and his thesis 25 years ago at the age of 21 or 22. Do you really think that he will have the same opinion he does now? I'm sure a lot of college students have opinions about the world that will change when they reach 40.

Exactly, that's my point. This is just another example of the GOP picking through every farfetched, inane idea imaginable to get a chance of discrediting him

I recall some unfortunate slash with Encyclopedia Brown and Bugs Meany realizing that their contests of wits were nothing but a thin veneer hiding their latent sexual tension.

I think mine was something like a critical interpretation of Hinduism and Confucianism and their relationship to Capitalism viz the writings of Karl Marx and Max Weber.

How embarrassing: I think we both wrote the same thing. Except I added the word "text" in there about five times, in various, um, variations.

If I were to reveal my Philosophy honors thesis here I would be endlessly flamed.

My Poli Sci minor thesis was a yawner about how the media interferes with the scheme of representative democracy IIRC.

One of my favorite Philo papers was an imaginary discussion between Spinoza and Liebniz over the monism/atomism argument. I rather liked that one.

The Onanist: My senior project was an art show - and they banned some of my work.

Just because the thread has gone totally, totally off-topic anyway:

When I was working theater at University of Chicago, we did a production of "Six Degrees of Separation". I don't know if y'all are familiar with the play, but at one point it calls for a naked gay prostitute to run out on stage. Not a real one, of course, an actor playing one (though the Venn Diagram between naked male prostitutes and theater majors definitely overlaps).

Anyway, one guy volunteered himself for the role. He was a little flabby, but whatever, everyone was glad someone else was jumping on that grenade. We thanked him.

Even at dress rehearsal we had him wear boxers, because, you know, there's just no need for that.

So opening night comes, and the moment arrives. I'm up in the lighting booth, making sure the rising rose light catches his pasty white form just right.

So he comes storming out, hitting his mark perfectly.

There's an audible silence, and then creaking, as everyone in the theater leans forwards: This guy has the biggest ball sack, and the smallest penis, you've ever farking seen. It was like a peanut on two milk jugs. It was like a baby carrot on a pair of eggplants. It was astonishing.

It totally redefined the play; the main character was obviously not just gay, but into some seriously freaky shiat-- a ballworshipper, or a microdick fetishist. I wanted to run out and write a thesis about how the comparative size of a man's ween vs. scrotum can totally alter the interpretation of a text.

And that's my story.

Skleenar 2008-07-24 05:14:19 PM
