Nice choice, submitter, maybe my favorite song on that album, which surprised me with its sublime goodness. And happy birthday to a real talent.

Saw them here last month, great show. Excellent band backing them up, too. Seeing Robert Plant up close at this point in his career (had 10th row seat, dead center) was like watching a fine old English stage actor -- he made it all seem so effortless.

I'd wreck her. I'd wreck her bad.

She has one of the best voices I have ever heard, but I don't really see her as a lust object. She nice looking, but not super hot.

Saw them in Philly two weekends ago, great concert and I'm not even a big fan of Bluegrass.

Their restyling of Battle of Evermore is really good too.

I think it's more that she sings like an angel, she's both funny and smart, and that's stuffed into a cute little package. Personally, I go *meh* at ScarJo, Megan Fox, and Jessica Alba- nice to look at, yes, but none of them are besmirched by talent. Personally, I save my lust for women that turn on both my brain and my dick.

And I'm guessing you don't make women laugh much.

I wasn't THAT impressed with the Plant/Krauss effort but I love them both individually.

THIS. She looks like a lady who would give great mind. I actually saw Alison walking down the street once in NYC. She is surprisingly tall and petite with a great butt.

You also know she is going to age well. If she ends up looking like Emmylou Harris we all win.

What are you...nine? I'll phrase this such that hopefully it doesn't go over your head: I'm rubber, you're glue, whatever you say bounces off me and sticks to you.

Ditto. I don't think their voices work all that well together- he's too jarring and bluesy while hers is just so tonally pure.

That was awesome. Emmylou has such an amazing voice. I would say I'd hit that like the fist of an angry god, but evidently I'm gay.

Robert Plant is awesome. I even liked the Honeydrippers mess. Allison Krauss' farts are on key. What else can I say?

I am 100% sure I'm not gay and I agree with what you said about the lust for women that turn on both my brain and my dick. But I'm also single about eleven months out of any given year.

Their restyling of Battle of Evermore is really good too.

The best version of Battle of Evermore I have heard besides Zeppelin's has to be Heart's, hands down.

Heard em both, and I prefer Plant/Krauss ONLY for Krauss' backups. they're awesome.

I saw them in April. I thought it was sweet how humbled he seemed by her angelic voice. He was such the courteous gentleman while they performed together. I got chills.

I don't know who thought of getting these two together, but I think it was brilliant.

danlpoon 2008-07-23 02:13:38 PM
I don't know who thought of getting these two together

It was a joint decision by their respective accountants. Every time Plant has a kid heading to college he does a project.

uhm... Rhonda Vincent is the queen of Bluegrass and MUCH hotter than Ms. Krauss. Alison isnt what you'd call bluegrass, she plays violin more than fiddle (same instrument I know, but different venacular for style) and she has an angelic voice not much of a "high lonesome" sound.

And Plant never could carry a tune in a bucket. A flashy frontman maybe, but no one would ever accuse him of being a singer.

NYZooMan 2008-07-23 08:49:51 PM
Bluegrass-pop.

Meh, saw Rhonda at our state fair one year. Seemed a little...phony. Even bought her Live disc, which hasn't really ever made my playlist. I'll take AK any day.

Robert Plant rocked the concert in Columbia, MD. He was all the things you want from a performer, but Alison was a wooden nightmare. She refused to have a good time. She smiled twice, maybe. And there were many times when funny things happened, Plant had a great time. My wife and I left with a bad impression of Alison, but my wife is enamored with Plant now. Also, Alison does not look good anymore. She had work done or something, but her face is plastic and Marylin Manson-like.
