Noting purely for the record how the unbiased local paper failed to show Fox News' tent, while unbiased CNN is prominently marked.

It's almost as if Denver wanted them there.

That should be very environmentally friendly. Routers are known to sip power miserly. Al Gore will be proud.

So is ABC, NBC, and CBS. Maybe Fox isn't shown because they don't need an official location -- they're just going to be making shiat up anyway.

Wow gigabit. Been there, done that and I had an ocean to contend with.
How does that equal 220,000 homes? Is there a new trend in dial-up? In some countries a gigabit is only good for less than 10 homes.

I wish technical news wouldn't be covered by non-technical articles.

Yea really. Gigabit networking doesn't even need high-end custom system any more unless you want to be a carrier. Now if they set up an OC-768 for the convention...then you'd impress me.

I'm 300+ meters of fiber away from 10g to the house... which has nothing that can talk faster than gigE.

Average downstream in my town? I'm going to say about 5mb.
5mb * 220,000 = 1.1 terabit connection.
Let's tone that down to 56k.
56k * 220,000 = 12.3 gigabit connection.
I hear a single gigabit connection being thrown around in the thread.
Thats 4.55k per household.
They're making up numbers now, thinking the general audience are computards.

The Pepsi Center is loaded to the gills with with fiber optics and growth capacity, and could easily handle enough equipment to network 220,000 homes and then some. I know because I spent 2 years helping build that infrastructure. That said, alot of the outside plant is new and I'm sure their bringing in tons of goodies for the "server room". The convention should be pretty smooth from a networking standpoint.

Yeah but I am supposed to ride a bicycle to work and hang my clothes out to dry on an Amish washline. FU Dems.

But are you getting a kick out of these replies?

So you're the guy to blame for the slow-ass connections into the suites?

Seriously man, did you finish that last run with twine and two cans?

It could be fun to run a packet sniffer at the DNC, huh?
