(Washington Post) Dumbass The Washington Post's ombudsman thinks there should be more substantive political coverage. But where would readers learn such devastatingly relevant info as Chandra Levy's favorite scrunchy color?   (washingtonpost.com) divider line 13

The Washington Post's ombudsman thinks there should be more substantive political coverage.

If voters wanted to read or watch it, there would be money to be made from it and crap like Fox Propaganda and E! wouldn't be cash cows.

Of course, serious-minded people like mysel...ooooh, I better remember to renew my TF subscription!

You mean 24/7 coverage of Obama's every breath isn't substantive?

I'm just chiming in to say that ombudsman is the coolest word in the history of stuff.

News stopped being a community service for the good of the people a long time ago. Now it's all about money. and shaping public opinion for the "news" corporations and the corporations who advertise with them.

It's Swedish, I think. It means you a man (man) you ask (bod) for (om) something from.

I don't know what color exactly, but I can tell you it was made of velvet.

I usually respect the Post's reporting, but the week-long Chandra Levy thing is a massive load of suck. I hope this isn't a sign of things to come what with that their recent layoffs and all.

I just shuttered an American factory and shipped it to Mexico.

I don't agree with it, I think our leaders are treacherous whores who have sold us out.

But that's the game now, no sense trying to make money as the only virgin in the whorehouse.

I support causes trying to make it harder for me to do what I do.

It is no more a contradiction than what this guy was saying.

Wanting the world to be different and yet playing under its current rules are not the same thing.

Typical right wing horseshiat to conflate the two.

But I found the LA Times article "Is Barack Black Enough?" riveting.
