Chap acquitted.

I didn't realize it was up for debate that Ted Kennedy's drunken negligence resulted in the [accidental?] death of a young woman.

OlafTheBent [TotalFark] 2008-07-18 01:48:39 PM
Wasn't that the one where Laura Bush was driving drunk and killed someone... no that's not it.

/If it's not a Bush, it must be a Kennedy.

Of course it's you.

On the contrary. I think "laugh at the loser cuz he's still frothingly angry about Chappaquidick" is a pretty funny game.

Nah, there was no bungled cover-up in that one.

You know what they say in Cape Cod? It's not summer until a Kennedy jumps a curb.

If you're not a member of the Kopechne family and you're still kvetching about Mary Jo? You're the right wing equivalent of the lefty loonies who aren't in the Corrie family but who are still kvetching about poor poor Rachel getting flattened by a bulldozer.

Tone it down there slappy. I was just pointing out that there is most likely someone that cares. But since your hypersensitive rant is just begging for a response I will give you one.

Teddy Kennedy is a pathetic, morally bankrupt, shell of a human being.

There are plenty of reasons to despise him even if you forget the fact that 39 years ago he saved his own ass and let a young woman die an awful death and then tried to cover it up, and when the cover up failed he used his family connections to be sure that he would face absolutely no consequences at all.

You feel free to follow him if you like, frankly he sickens me.

When that statement is followed by an even longer hypersensitive rant I think that qualifies as "irony".

No, it's usually not Summer until you start hearing jackasses from out of state trying to do what they think is a Massachusetts accent...

The Kennedy's usually keep to their own properties these days and unless you're filthy rich as well, your chances of running into any of the well-known ones is slim and none, and they usually fly in and out on private helicopters.

Keep trying guys, someone might care eventually.

I know right, and I was so jazzed with anticipation for December's 118th annual Massacre at Wounded Knee thread that I forgot to RSVP.

I don't see how pointing out that Ted Kennedy is a scumbag in any way excuses the actions of Bush and Co. He's gotta be an embarrassment to the Dems.

A rant perhaps. Sensitive? No, sorry, just pointing out some facts for you. And it is about as ironic as that moronic song.

Obviously... must be why he got a standing ovation from both sides of the aisle when he returned to the Senate for the first time after his surgery.

Like Jesse Ventura said (paraphrasing here): Politics is a lot like professional wrestling...on TV you think these guys all hate each other, but back stage they're all best of friends...

I've never voted for the guy (and never will) and what happened 39 years ago was despicable, but to act like Kennedy is somehow the exception to the rule or worse than any of the other clowns down in DC is just plain silly.

Have a good weekend...

Yeah!! This really gets my goat! I'm going to go register as a Republican because of what a Senator from a state 3000 miles away did almost 40 years ago!

I didn't know getting in a car with Ted Kennedy was as wreckless and stupid as standing in front of a bulldozer in the Gaza Strip.

And yet, compared to a majority of the Democratic representatives, he's one of the most ethical and moral of them all, as evidenced by their recent sell-off of our 4th Amendment rights to the telecomm companies.

Shouldn't you people wait until the 40th for a big celebration? You could even have a real body put in the replica car. Just grab any old woman's body from your service people in Iraq and toss it in there for the extra realism.

Well, except for never being able to be president. If Chappaquiddick never occurred we'd definitely have seen a second President Kennedy either in '72, '76 or '80.

Meanwhile, Bill Janklow (R-an The Stop Sign) did 100 whole days for second-degree vehicular manslaughter.

It's all about how much juice you have, and the Kennedys had more than anybody back in '69, along with a far-more-cooperative press.
