It was laughable racist lies in the early 1900s when it was called "Yellow Peril". It was laughable racist lies in the mid 19th century when it involved hordes of miscreant Irish who were coming to steal American jobs and cavort drunkenly in the streets.

It's the same story with the names changed and it's always been fictional.

And? 5 to 10% of France is Muslim, many of whom are secular French who have lived in France for two or three generations. There's 1500 mosques in France compared with 14,000 Catholic churches.

France is no more in danger of being "taken over by Muslim hordes" than the Germans were in danger of being taken over by evil Jewish hordes in 1939.

Oh I beg to differ.

At least when people feared the Yellow Peril and the miscreant Irish, it was a response to a real question of immigration and assimilation.

This is just so much pantywasted conservative bedwetting. The idea that someday we will have to kneel before over a bunch of poorly armed glorified goat herders in a desert a half a world away only arises in right wing bondage fantasies.

There is no such thing as a secular Muslim. "Muslim" is not a term utilized in identifying nationality--its a term denoting religious affiliation. That's like saying "5 to 10% of New Hampshire is Southern Baptist, many of whom are secular Americans who have lived there for generations."

The real issue is that there are 4 to 5 million Muslims living in France pushing their beliefs and agenda on the remaining 90% of the country and that 90% are not doing nearly enough about this growing trend.

are you serious?

i'm baptist. i'm a VERY secular baptist... in fact, i haven't been to church in years and have no plans to go in the near future. but i'm still a member of a baptist church, my family is baptist, i was raised baptist... i'm a baptist. a secular baptist.

The real issue is that there are 4 to 5 million Muslims living in France pushing their beliefs and agenda on the remaining 90% of the country and that 90% are not doing nearly enough about this growing trend.

Please.
There is NO SUCH THING as a secular Muslim.

There may be such a thing as a NON-PRACTICING Muslim, and indeed it seems you are a NON-PRACTICING BAPTIST, but "SECULAR" means "of or relating to the doctrine that rejects religion and religious considerations."

Trust me--you will never find a Muslim that says "I'm secular." Either they are deador there is a fatwa on their head already.

While unrest had been building among the juvenile population in France, action was not taken until the reopening of schools in Autumn, since most of the French population is on vacation during the late summer months. However, riots began on Thursday 27 October 2005, triggered by the deaths of two teenagers in Clichy-sous-Bois, a poor commune in an eastern banlieue (suburb) of Paris. Initially confined to the Paris area, the unrest subsequently spread to other areas of the Île-de-France région, and spread through the outskirts of France's urban areas, also affecting some rural areas. After 3 November it spread to other cities in France, affecting all 15 of the large aires urbaines in the country. Thousands of vehicles were burned, and at least one person was killed by the rioters. Close to 2900 rioters were arrested.

On 8 November, President Jacques Chirac declared a state of emergency effective at midnight. Despite the new regulations, riots continued, though on a reduced scale, the following two nights, and again worsened the third night. On 9 November and the morning of 10 November a school was burned in Belfort, and there was violence in Toulouse, Lille, Strasbourg, Marseille, and Lyon.

On 10 November and the morning of 11 November, violence increased overnight in the Paris region, and there were still a number of police wounded across the country.[4] According to the Interior Minister, violence, arson, and attacks on police worsened on the 11th and morning of the 12th, and there were further attacks on power stations, causing a blackout in the northern part of Amiens.

Rioting took place in the city center of Lyon on Saturday, 12 November, as young people attacked cars and threw rocks at riot police who responded with tear gas. Also that night, a nursery school was torched in the southern town of Carpentras.[5]

Remember those American Evangelical riots in France a couple years ago?

I've said it before, and I'll say it again.

It doesn't matter how unrelated a person is to McCain. The moment political points can be scored, the person becomes Mccain's aide, surrogate, spokesman, top-VP pick, or whatever.

This guy isn't a spokesman. From some quick searching, it doesn't even look like he's has anything to do with the campaign. So why lie submitter?

/By the way, the same rules apply to all of Obama's associates, aides, surrogates, etc.
