I finally got to see the Stooges at a Cavestomp on Randalls Island a few years back it was incredible their were near hurricane conditions so not too many people went the the show. Reformed NY Dolls, Bo Diddley, Nancy Sinatra... The Stooges did not dissapoint.

Found the complete bill, which was sick.....Granted their was the threat of a hurricane but I couldn't believe it wasn't 20 times more packed.

Saw The Stooges at their welcome home gig in Michigan a couple years ago. The Von Blondies and Sonic Youth opened up it freaking rocked.

Iggy rules

Okay, so let's honor the Three Stooges with...something that has nothing to do with them beyond the use of the word "Stooges" in the name. Got it.

I was expecting my favorite 3 Stooges sketch "Restless Knights"

http://www.veoh.com/videos/v1164058WA2ShbXB

But this will do.

And another thing, if you rent "Iggy & The Stooges: Live in Detroit" be sure to check the set they did at a NYC record signing. It shows the actual way the Stooges would jam in the Ashton's basement; Iggy - vocals, Ron - guitar and pig amp, Scott - percussion with various found boxes, buckets and metal things. Classic.

/huge iggy-stooges fan
//seen iggy many, many times
///the stooges i saw last year

I love the commentators on that. "We seem to have lost Iggy. Oh there he is"

I was there too.

The Stooges show that night restored my faith in the belief that during a great rock show ANYTHING can happen.

Curly and one of the Ashetons were friends later in life... so in some small way it has something to do with.. Moe? I got nothing. It's the Stooges man.

I can't find a copy of Frank Black's Two Reelers on YouTube to reply with.

That was one for the books wasn't it. I was the big guy that was screaming like a little girl.

I just love the hopeless "play by play" guys covering the show.

I know... that's fantastic. Iggy dives into the crowd and they decide to break for a goddamn commercial! And his line: "That's peanut butter" is GOLD.

Punk rock has absolutely everything to do with the Three Stooges shorts. Read Legs McNeil's Please Kill Me.

Sorry, subby, but according to Wikipedia, Moe Howard was born in June 19th, not July 19th.

So "double dumbass on you".

oryx 2008-07-18 11:46:54 PM
It was Curly who said "nyuk nyuk nyuk", not Moe. And it's not "Nyuck Nuck Nyuck". Two more errors.
