i like rachel maddow... i've listened to her show on air america a few times. i like countdown for what it is, but whenever she hosts it, i can tell she's kind of donning the countdown cap... that isn't really the type of stuff she talks about on her normal show. she talks a lot more about foreign policy and the war in general than about the politics of it.

She has a face made for radio.

She's a smart gal.

She very well may get her own show. But it won't be at the expense of Matthews. They won't cut him loose. Especially with the loss of Russert.

the article is a bit misleading in that regard anyways, since weekend nights aren't booked solid on msnbc. she may well take chris matthews's time slot... when they re-air his show at 7.

It is more likely that she would get the 6pm time slot that will be freed up when "Race for the White House" reaches the end of its run in November.

But Ms. Maddow said that it would be a mistake to paint her broadly as pro-Obama and anti-McCain. "I'm not that much of a typecastable liberal," she said over lunch. "I am not a fan of either candidate."

What a farking, lying, whore.

As long as they don't put Tucker back in that slot.

You're just saying that because she looks like a dyke.

//What? She cleans up alright when I've seen her on Countdown.

She was wearing a little number with bold pin stripes one night while covering Olbermann. Looked just like one of his suits.

I wouldn't say she's unattractive. Butchy, but attractive in her own way.

Actually, a lot of listeners complained during the primary about her luke-warm coverage of Obama in favor of Edwards (as an Edwards supporter, I didn't mind). I'd say she was tentatively supportive of Obama as an alternative to Hillary or McCain, but he wasn't her first pick.

Of course, I stopped listening to pretty much all politics around March because I was primary-ed out, and am just now picking the pieces back up. So maybe she has changed.

This - if not for the butch haircut.

It's hard to sound equally critical of both candidates when Obama is blessed with the gift of gab and McCain is blessed with the gift of gaffe.

dgc360 [TotalFark] 2008-07-17 01:54:08 PM
I like how she holds her own against the blowhards (i.e. Joe Scarborough). I'd love to see her on Hannity & Colmes /BOR one day, she wouldn't take any shiat.

That's funny, that's exactly how I feel about all you "I don't like John McCain but I'll defend everything he does and bash Obama every chance I get" clowns.

Kaiser_Bun: Also has a crush on her.

I am also not so strangely attracted to the delightful Ms. Maddow. She has a well developed sense of irony which serves her well covering politics today. And I think the short hair works well for her face and skin. I can't picture her with a longer hair cut that would be an improvement.

I think somebody's angry inch is upset that this is yet another vagina that they will never touch.

I'd never heard her until recently. She made what I thought an interesting observation regarding The SurgeTM. She said it had been described by critics as an escalation but the euphemists branding it as The SurgeTM ultimately triumphed.

/recalled from an imperfect memory

I saw that piece, too. I guess the White House is consulting with Frank Lutz again.

i guess i kinda have a crush on her. i don't know how to describe it... it's not a sexual interest per se, because i've known she was gay from the minute i saw her. it's not quite a man-crush, because she's not a man. it's somewhere in between, and i'm trying to figure out a way to phrase it.

lesbians do make excellent drinking buddies. you can ogle all the ladies you want, and whichever way she swings, one of you has a shot.

I had a lesbian Wingwoman that I used to go drinking with in college. I would hit on the straight girls while she would entice their bi-curious friends.

not likely. There is more money, fame, and influence as a member of the punditry... just ask Joe Scarborough.

On the Colbert Report, he practically announced his candidacy for Arlen Specter's Senate seat in 2010.
