Most politicians' web sites have a calendar tab with upcoming events. Commissioner Price's calendar tab links to information about his annual calendar for sale with pictures of himself. This is in no way an encouagement to GIS him.

While blogging as we know it may not last for the long haul, the world has finally realized what a powerful equalizer the internet can be.

I understand the value of blog software as a publication mechanism, but I don't understand the overblown significance of "blogging" as a communications medium. Overall, the signal-to-noise ratio is abysmal.

And that goes 1000x for "microblogging" like Twitter. If I want to find out what a friend was doing earlier today, I'll ask him!

There are many reasons to make fun of him, but he really hasn't done a bad job on Commissioner's Court. He's nowhere near as stupid as Barry and McKinney, and he's not as crooked as Jackson.

Dallas city government is totally full of tards. JWP is just one of them. The city council meetings (and school board meetings and ...) are nothing but a screaming yelling match -- sort of like a Fark global warming thread.

The city council has a history of death threats amongst members and kickbacks/corruption (outside of JWP).

JWP has a long history. I dont want to be accused of slander, so lets just say you should look at his arrest history. Make sure you scroll to the next page.

The allure from reading them is, if they are interesting enough, they are worth to read as much as any other newspaper or magazine article.

The allure from creating them is, if you get enough readers, you can actually make a decent living from advertising.

Of course, at that point, you are basically a "publisher", just like any other newspaper or magazine, except just publishing your own material.

The term "blogger" should just be set aside for those people who continue to post their thoughts as "articles" on the internet, and only a dozen other people ever read them.

So true. The DISD meetings have always been my personal favorites. Of course, I moved to Dallas right around the time the whole Yvonne Gonzalez thing was breaking, so that may have colored my preferences.
