Michelle wants to be front and center in the campaign. She can't have it both ways; saying whatever she wants then complaining when she's called out on it.

Obama needs to grow a pair, he's becoming a professional victim.

To be fair, the Republicans generally run "Family? What family?" campaigns, which is appropriate to their theoretical message of noninterference in private matters (yes, yes, they blow that one on policy grounds, but it's still a sort of general principle -- or at least it was once) while the Democrats tend to run "hey, look who I'm married to! Look how awesome my kids are! See, I have family and shiat, too, clearly you can't complain about me not having family values and such!" campaigns. Honestly, I prefer the first approach because I think attempting to protect one's family from the inevitable media circus is a mark of good character, but that's obviously not my call to make and I can't really complain about someone else's decision on the matter. Whining about negative attention when you send your wife on talk shows and such on your behalf is more than slightly hypocritical, though, either way. If you use someone as a character witness, expect their character to be questioned -- that's kind of a basic part of verifying that their opinion of you is actually valid/worth listening to.

That said, fark this nonsense. Assumably someone on Obama's staff will have the wisdom to keep Michelle way the hell far away from the command structure for reasons of political incompetence alone, so she could be a (black) white supremacist who thinks we should nuke Mexico and it shouldn't matter, particularly. I think we learned our lesson with Mrs. Clinton and her 'co-president' B.S.
