The best -- the only -- argument for McCain is the one being shopped around by Arnold Schwartzenegger these days. Don't believe McCain the candidate, believe McCain the voter in the past 20 years.

I believe once a criminal Republican, always a criminal Republican. Cough *keating five* cough

The most painful clip from the Sunday morning shows: top McCain VP prospect Mark Sanford

Well, not any more.

It's always fun to watch the Sunday morning shows during VP Interview Season. It's almost like Political American Idol - only, Wolf Blitzer is not nearly the caliber of dick that Simon Cowell is.

The only problem is that McCain the voter of the last 4 years is vastly different from the 80s/90s McCain.

It isn't just his rhetoric, he has changed his stances and his voting.

Because war experience worked so well for Kerry, Gore, Dole, Bush Sr.

And don't bring up Eisenhower and Teddy Roosevelt. There's a big difference between being a top military commander and being a regular soldier.

Heh. Here are the basic options for answering that question:

- My party's candidate isn't as foolish as my party's president.
- My party's candidate makes my party's president look foolish.
- My party's candidate is just as foolish as the guy with the lowest approval rating since Nixon.

Once you get past those three, it's either bumble around until the cameras turn off, or just endorse Obama on the spot.

Sucks to be you, Mark Sanford.

But bush says he believes in Global warming too. McCain says he is more environmental friendly then Bush but how have they been actually different?

Both say they believe in global warming but neither has done much about it.

In fact McCain used to attack global warming studies as "Pork" all the time. How many global warming studies and research would bite the dust from his "no pork" policy.

Only after he becomes president would we find out if he really means what he says or if he would talk the talk but just use more delaying tactics like George W. Bush has.

When George W. Bush ran for president he also said that CO2 was a pollutant and would be regulated by the EPA. But after he got in office he flopped on the issue.

So so far really McCain and Bush's view on Global warming is pretty much the same. They say it is real but haven't done anything about it and just delay.

Once upon a time it was a boost to one's credibility to volunteer to go fight in the nations wars in order to succeed politically. It is a striking indication of how things have changed that we may well never elect a Vietnam vet as President.

I'm not saying that military service should be a prerequisite, but it is interesting how much more interventionist we've been in the last few decades with people who have never seen combat at the helm.

Oh here is McCain's Climate Change strategy.

It's the "Lexington Project":

Expanding Domestic Oil And Natural Gas Exploration And Production

John McCain Believes In Promoting And Expanding The Use Of Our Domestic Supplies Of Natural Gas.

So his plan to combat climate change is to drill for more Oil and use more fossil fuels.

Sounds to me pretty close to George W. Bush's energy plan.

Could it be Bush is not so bad after all ! Nah we wouldn't want to spoil a trashing by telling the truth.
If Bush is not so bad then guess what, maybe Mc Cain is better. I just read Bush has a 125 IQ. Duh !
Who's lying !

Some of the actors [ including Josh Brolin who plays a young W ] were arrested in Shreveport for public disorder in a bar fight. Practicing for his part in a no trashing film by Oliver Stone [ known for his truthfulness ] about Quote: How a drunk [ W ] went from bum to president of the United States.
Oliver just started shopping his script for financing in Jan. , it's already filming, that has to be some kind of record !
The left is pulling out all the guns this time.
I guess they don't think Michael Moore can carry the water this time. He was caught lying and cheating too many times to be credible.
Oliver Stone and creditability shouldn't be used in the same sentence.

No wonder our standing in the world is sliding away.
You take a man that has succeeded more or less in every endeavor he attempted and rose to the challenges put before him , freed 50 million people from tieriny or worse and guess what your reward is.

Drunken Bum pulled out of the gutter into the Whitehouse.
I wonder another cantidate will recieve simular treatment like street activist high on cocaine steals State Senate seat and parleys influence by shafting constituants in slums and rides a white horse to the white house. LOL
I wouldn't hold my breath on that happening!

All in good fun but the rest of the world believes it like the bible. There are stillmany places you would be shot for spreading untruths about leaders.
What a great country we live in .

Basically, McCain gives himself points for believing in global warming first and seeing An Inconvenient Truth. That's it.

As I said before, I've also seen Sanford mentioned as a potential VP, "but not, say, Romney," who is gaining bizarre momentum as McCain's #1. McCain seems to really think Romney would guarantee Michigan.

A few things from a SC resident:

Sanford doesn't really like McCain much at all. He waited until long after the South Carolina primary was over, and McCain had been annointed, to endorse him.

Sanford wouldn't accept the VP slot; he knows McCain is farked and doesn't want to ride that hindenburg to it's destination. Any "campaigning" he's doing today is to set himself up for a run in 2012.

He is terrible on camera. Always. Bad here, bad on colbert, bad everywhere there is a moving picture camera. Pretty good in person though.

I like him. He picks and chooses the good from what republicans are supposed to be and avoids the bad. Fiscal conservatism, lots of calling a spade a spade when it comes to the state legislature wasting money, and lots of gridlock (which is good for keeping them from wasting money).

I'm still not sure if I trust him completely, though. He's a real estate developer and i've heard rumors of him interfering in various land related things. Even with that, he still towers over everyone else as far as quality of politician.
