(LA Times) Interesting So Obama was all like, "Biden, you're my BFF." But then Obama picked Hagel and Reed to go with him on his Iraq trip, and Biden got totally pissed and took Obama off his Top Eight on his Myspace   (latimesblogs.latimes.com) divider line 41

Sorry, I like the "treating US politics like junior high politics" meme.

Is it a meme if it's true?

Etchy333 don't get me wrong I liked your headline, it's the 'thrown under the bus' thing that I'm fed up with.

Exactly.

Just one request: Don't do that while I'm drinking coffee, coffee burns when it goes out your nose.

Biden has way too much baggage and would not bring in a big state. Wouldn't be a good choice politically.

He'd be fine right up until he says something really stupid. Remember his remarks about how he loves Indian folks in the northeast and you can't go into a 7/11 without hearing an Indian accent? Or how Obama seemed like such a novelty as a clean-cut, articulate black guy? Yeah, if Obama picked Biden, he'd probably be facing a remark about how the towels on the heads of those Arabs look even better than the towels at the last Hilton hotel Biden was in. Or maybe it would be something about how much he loves Mexicans...doing his yard work. You get the point.

Personally, I like Biden. Sure he says some stupid shiat occasionally but at least he seems like an honest guy to me that knows what he's doing.

Well that just makes good business sense. He'll need lots of buses by the time November rolls around.

You guys missed the best part of the article.

Obama - Black fathers need to take care of their kids

Jesse - I wanna cut his nuts off

Obama - Jesse you need to take care of yours too.

Gotta admit Obama does have style sometimes.

Obama = Sly individual who can successfully twist a question into an answer and back again with one (ONE) sentence. An excellent politician who certainly deserves to be president, but what does he stand for aside from "change"?

McCain = A scapegoat dressed out by the GOP to successfully save face after the past four years with Bush in office. But, at the same time, try to make sure that there is balance in the House, Senate and White House itself by maintaining some form of conservative majority SOMEWHERE IN CONGRESS. A 100% Democrat Congress gives the self-employed and small business owners shivers down their spine.(I liked Bush's first term - and, yes, I know I'm "Part of The Problem" for his second term by voting for him, BUT, I Don't Care. It's in the past. Can't change it. Oh, well.)

Which is why my vote goes to this guy:

So what? That leaves 96 other Senators not going as well.

As it stands I think Barack Obama and John McCain should go together to Iraq for a debate on the war. Let the Iraqi's ask questions about the war, (not presecreened) and don't have it in the green zone.

Not even "one of." His main economic guru. The guy who wrote the Goddamned plan, even though the media won't ask the question.

as one of the few delaware residents on fark let me say that senator Biden would/will bring instant foreign relations experience right away in a possible Obama cabinet and maybe calm down enough of some of them "hard working white people" to vote for him as a VP Canidate. on the other hand Biden has yet to publicy endorse Obama if im correct.

He doesn't have a choice. Otherwise in the Fall McCain will be all "Obama has opinions about a place he can't even be bothered to go to."

Foreign policy is McCain's strong suit (*cough* only suit *cough*). Ceding McCain a talking point is foolish.

Not to me. I still remember Biden prancing around with his fellow frothing drug warriors. Pandering to the ignorant with all his might. For the children.

Fark the Hagel haters. Hagel is a badass. Time for some Hagel quotes:

"To question your government is not unpatriotic - to not question your government is unpatriotic."

"I took an oath of office to the Constitution, I didn't take an oath of office to my party or my president."
(in reference to the PATRIOT ACT)

"National security is more important than the Republican Party or the Democratic Party. And to use it to try and get someone elected will ultimately end up in defeat and disaster for that political party.

He may be a hardline Republican on a lot of social issues but at least he's a respectable patriot instead of a partisan asskisser. I'd rather have a senate full of Hagels than a senate full of the average Democrat or Republican.
