actually, read the link in the police log above. Second story is about grow houses blowing power lines. There are tons of them there, they are mostly just ignored.

That's not what the article says. It says there are 1,000 illegal grow houses in Arcata proper. In a town with a population of 17,000. That would mean that there is 1 grow house for every 17 people in Arcata. That would likely mean that roughly 1 out of every 8 homes houses an illegal marijuana growing operation. That's pure, unadulterated bullshiat.

I beg to differ. I would imagine my home state of Kentucky, specifically the southeast corner, has more production. Kentucky grows 40% of the mj of the US. In small area sized counties.

I've taught at community colleges. There's a lot to be said for non-traditional students. Of course, I'm sure some schools attract the wrong kind of students.
