Whatever its original intentions, PETA has become a caricature of itself. You could not create a better satire of a ridiculously inconsequential activist group better if you tried. They are laughable, and irrelevant.

I don't get annoyed by PETA's absurd publicity stunts nearly as much as I get annoyed by the media for actually providing a platform to PETA to promote their insane agenda.

Just seems a rather odd pet but I never really understood the whole potbellied pig thing either. An animal like that is gonna hoover up hay at an alarming rate.....maybe he's just being prepped for a village-wide cookout.

Okay, the story goes like this. One day, this big asshole comes in, he calls up a bet. $10,000 bet on Buffalo to win the Super Bowl. That's to win, okay ? Now, l know what you're thinking. The story's hard to believe, right ? l mean, what kind of an idiot would bet... $10,000 on Buffalo to win a big game like that? lt's true, l swear to God it happened. l mean, this guy was so out of touch... he didn't even have the ten large to cover his bet. Hey, tell somebody to turn up the heat. So, Billy. What happened was this bookie got so sick... of hearing everybody's excuses. l mean, they're all the same, you know? Everybody's got an excuse. Anyway, this bookie got so sick that he just had to throw up. The only way he could make himself feelbetter was to-- to do bad things. To do very, very bad things to the excuse maker. And very, very bad things to the excuse maker's mother and father. So, what do you say? Why don't we give this story a happy ending? l got an acquaintance, a friend, a very good friend of ours, and he just got arrested. Of course, he's innocent. His arrest is a goddamn injustice, a tragedy. So, you, the asshole, will confess to the crime of which he is accused, so as to free the innocent man. Now, if you fail... to convince the court, or if you refuseto try to, then very evil and very bad things are gonna happen. Very evil and very bad things. Oh, and, Billy. lf Buffalo ever makes it back to the Super Bowl, bet against them. Now, get the fark out of my sight.

BRAVO Subby.

Recently returned from Yellowstone Park where on the first day was in a minor traffic jam b/c two Bison were walking in the middle of the road... Well the @$$hat in the car closest to the Bison decided he would get them moving by honking his horn. One of those Bison whipped around and stared down the car for what seemed like minutes... Have to say, was hoping the Bison would have rammed the car...

I only which you were right.

Peta is an insane organization, masked in cutesy behaviors. They are hypocrites and support terrorist anarchist groups. Their leadership can burn.

PETA is essentially like Sinn Fein, a political front for a terrorist group. At first, their stated goals are morally correct, but their ultimate goal is nutters, as they support ELF.

... great headline ... subby

I often hear about plans to rejuvenate downtown Buffalo. the last time i was downtown Buffalo there was a car on blocks on the main street (near some place called the Brownstone Bistro, by the big concert hall)

it's going to be an uphill battle.

trillium13 2008-07-12 04:32:43 PM
I find it quite sad that stupid people have nothing better to do than pick on any animal, period. It's just plain cowardly, and sick, and I suppose I could say more about it, but the point is made.

With that said, why is someone keeping this thing on "a patch of land" in some village? Sounds like no place for an animal of that size. It's like keeping a cow in your garage or something. Makes no sense to me.

Did you even read the article or did you just see the word PETA and decide to vent a little?

i agree, PETA's publicity stunts are often contrived and completely over-the-top, but I would say offering a modest thousand dollar reward for information leading to the arrest of a person who threw goddamn cinder blocks at an animal is pretty rational and moderate.
