On his salary, can't they afford a real basketball? That thing sounds plastic and doesn't bounce particularly well.

I have no idea what the rules are of this 1-on-1 game. Is watching the other guy the only strategy for defense? It appears that the offensive strategy is to dribble the ball back to some imaginary line and then hope for a successful shot when you return to the basket.

I'm being honest here, I don't get this game. I hate it when I'm put in the position to play it, and yet when I follow the rules mentioned above - no one calls me on it. Surely there's more to it, right? Can you try to get the ball away from the other guy, or is this just taking turns.

I don't watch basketball and know nothing about it - but I don't think this activity has much to do with the actual sport.
