ah, good ole Jessie. I can't say i'm surprised at his comments. He hates any black man who upstages him. it's all about his ego, not about 'his people'. He's lived a life of selfishness and greedy mistrust, spreading lies and racial hatred in his wake. When he finally goes to meet his maker - i'm sure he will have much to explain.

I wonder when Jesse Jackson will finally be completely disavowed by the black community and his black victimization pogroms and self aggrandizing is finished. Sharpton can follow suit.

MaxxLarge [TotalFark] 2008-07-11 02:08:21 PM
Jealousy is an ugly thing, Jesse.

And besides, whenever some cracker slips up and slurs, he apparently has to prostrate himself in front of the dual altars of Jackson and Sharpton, who have anointed themselves some sort of de facto leaders of the community. They smugly accept the apology, and it's supposed to mean that black people aren't supposed to be offended any more. That takes balls. But what takes BIGGER balls (natch) is to paint yourself as some sort of moral leader, then drop stuff like this, supposedly "off the record." I mean...You KNOW he pulls stuff like that all the time, and this time the mic was just on, so he got caught.

Whatever.

The mind control lasers got you. Who winds up looking good here? Who suddenly has a little distance between himself and traditional black leaders?

Now tell me this wasn't staged.

Loosen the tinfoil. Do you really believe an egomaniac like Jackson would sacrifice himself like this for a candidate who is "post-racial," and therefore defying the basis of Jackson's philosophy?

I don't believe it for a minute. Serendipity at best for Obama.

I think you're simultaneously giving Obama and Jackson too much credit. What line, exactly, would Jackson not cross for personal benefit?

Jesse Jackson has done more for race relations and American diplomacy than twenty Barack Obamas.

Barck Obama isn't fit to touch the hem of Jesse Jackson's garment.

Anyone know the origin of that pic? Why would so many random black people be dressed up and on a stage mean-mugging?

That's probably what the mother of Jesse's love child says about Jesse.

Thank you Fox news!

I was involved in the Martin Lee Anderson protest march. JJ and Al Sharrpton put Jeb Bush's feet to the fire and got Martin Lee's family the justice they deserved.

Martin Lee Anderson was strangled by guards, on tape, while being held at a juvey facility. The coroner's ruling? Sickle cell.

I'll never utter a bad word about either man.

Mr. Jackson is a classic example of believing your own BS, and eventually your brain turns to curds and whey. He has tried several times in the last decade to attach himself to issues nearby where I live. Each time, he has made an idiot of himself and hurt the cause of those he was trying to "help."

And Bill Clinton's comment about Obama and Jesse Jackson was the turning point that lost the election for his wife. Jesse may have just ended McCain's candidacy as well. (With Fox News help, har har har)

This is my thing about Jackson:

The man used to have the "mission" first and foremost in his intentions. Used to work with Martin Luther King and actually do what was good for the black community.

But, something happened. King was assassinated, of course, and Jessie just assumed he was the heir apparent to the leadership of the movement. Of course, as time moved on, the movement was actually successful, and the need for a controversial firebrand leader became less and less. And he couldn't accept this.

He wanted to be hugely important forever. He wanted to be a legend, like King is to this day. He wanted, for the lack of a better way to explain it, his "I Have a Dream" moment that would forever plop his ass in the history books.

So, for the last few decades, this man has ran to every major and minor event in the US in an attempt to get his moment, even if his presence was not warranted or wanted. Did we really need him to get involved in the Elian Gonzolas debacle? Did he really need to "council" Bill Clinton during the affair and subsequent impeachment, especially considering his own hypocrisy that was discovered later?

Of course not. But he's not for progressing the movement of "his people" anymore, it's all about ego and remembrance. He's becoming irrelevant, and it drives him nuts, and he destroys his own credibility and the credibility of every cause he tries to champion by proxy. And he seemingly doesn't notice, or worse doesn't care about the damage he does.

Hobodeluxe [TotalFark] 2008-07-11 05:58:46 PM
Jackson and Sharpton have preached for years that it was the system's fault. that social inequality kept the black man down.
and that has a lot of truth to it. but it's not an excuse to not try. Barack represents the fact that being born black and to a single mom is no excuse for a parent to give up. It undermines their message. Or so they think. Who is this guy to come in and steal our thunder and call parents to account? They don't really like him. He makes them irrelevant. This is why we saw Rev Wright act like he did at that press club fiasco. He disproves their theories. He shows that if you have enough determination and the right support that anyone can make it.
and that threatens their status quo. they've made a lot of money telling people it's not their fault. Bill Cosby suffered the same fate.
Listen it's not easy. Anyone who makes it through those obstacles can rest assured that they're a better person and stronger individual for it. They have character and determination that someone who had it handed to them don't have.
time to quit coddling bad parents.

Obama is going to walk away with the presidency, not because Jesse said he'd like to cut his nuts off, but because Jesse tried and failed. He broke 13 knifes, 3 sets of bolt cutters, a katana, a claymore, a reciprocating saw, as surgical bone cutter, 4 chisels, and 2 chainsaws.

Balls of iron, the man has.
