I can truly say that two or three of the top ten stupidest things I've ever read on the internet were written by Kathryn Jean Lopez.

I've read articles by her where I just had to sit staring at the screen for a couple of minutes in disbelief that this woman is actually an editor at major American magazine. Politics aside, she is just insanely, embarrassingly stupid.

Check out her archives. They're mind-boggling.

Crude 2008-07-11 11:30:04 AM
That thing is an editor?

And huh? I almost attempted to read that article, but come on, that was nonsense.

Jesse Jackson is jealous of Barack Obama's success. End of story. You don't need to compare it to any children's story or whateverinthehell she/it was trying to do.

And for all unconcerned parties, I'm a conservative and I certainly don't waste my time reading National Review. I have my own political opinions and I don't rely on other people to help me decide what my stance should be on any issue. *cough* Unlike left wingers *cough*

Just because an argument is stupid, wrong, makes no sense, and is irrelevant doesn't make it a straw man.

Mrs. Lopez, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone here is now dumber for having heard to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

You know, it just goes to show that there really isn't a minimum standard necessary to be a "conservative" commentator.

Bearded guy on the right? Totally gay. You know how I know? He has a popped collar and a immaculate haircut / beard trim.

That and he's a conservative republican.

Anyway, more to the point, he's kinda hot.

Nestea Plunge:National Review became a clownfest after Buckley left.

Can anyone think of a publication that has lost as much cache as the National Review? That magazine used to have some merit, and now is almost entirely garbage. I guess that once you've committed yourself to following this administration through the War is Peace/ Ignorance is Strength rabbit hole, it's becomes impossible to maintai any kind of standards.

Jackson's been telling black folks for 40 years, "no, you can't," because of The Man. Obama's message is, "yes, we can," and he's about to become The Man. Jesse can see the impending, immediate and permanent expiration of his meal ticket and doesn't want to choose between getting a real job or taking up residence in History's dustbin.

Ahh that was tacked on to the end (I skipped to it, couldn't follow that experimental fiction in the middle).

It's hilarious to watch K-Lo unload on Jackson and then turn around and say "But, but, wait, let's not judge Obama by his enemies. He's a commie, he sucks, Jackson sucks, LIBS LIBS LIBS!, etc."

(And remember, Bush would make a totally TITS high school government teacher.)
