(Billboard) Sad Ex-Foreigner frontman Lou Gramm completes his first Christian rock album and gets ready to rock for the Lord, claiming he still can have fun but isn't so much "Hotblooded" anymore and his fever of a 103 is mostly due to old age   (billboard.com) divider line 24

Also an idea- instead of making pseudo-rock and pseudo-rap with a Christian theme they should just purchase popular songs (Rolling Stones, Beatles, etc.) and rewrite the lyrics to be Christian. It would cost an ungodly amount (so to speak) but it's proven popular, and would definitely sound better than what's out there. And whatever integrity those great songs had was squeezed out long ago anyway.

Christian music is so uninspired...oddly enough.

Lou's a great vocalist. I'm anxious to hear the new album.

I was so dumbfounded until I looked up what that South Park was about- yeah, thats about it. Except I mean take like Black Sabbath or Hendrix and write completely new lyrics. But make some religious music since they're obviously unwilling to do so.
I hear the one genre where Christian bands can sometimes hold their own is metal.

The Devil inspired better rock and metal than God ever will.

Generally speaking I think it's because they go so caught up on the message that they lose a little focus in terms of the vehicle for that message.

That's the thought that comes to mind whenever I hear 'Christian Rock' songs that always seem to musically miss the boat.

FTA: Gramm, who left Foreigner for a second time in 2003, says that his recovery from a benign brain tumor in the late '90s gave him the impetus for many of the album's faith-based songs.

Less than a Gramm won't get you laid very often in the music biz, nowadays.

Oh, you mean like any Roger Waters solo album?

Lou Gramm survived a cancerous brain tumor. He always had a great voice and I'm happy he's doing what he loves to do.

Slightly FTFY (from TFA). Still, yikes.

One of the best rock voices ever, even now. If the whole Jesus thing wouldn't make my horns itch I'd like to hear the new album.

Lou Gramm did a concert at a local bar in March and I was pretty keyed up to go. I would say there were maybe 40 people there, tops.

He does not look like we all remember Lou Gramm looks. I guess treating the tumor put a lot of weight on him. I was really freaked out when he came out to the stage.

Then he sang - and man, he still has the pipes. He did a whole lot of Foreigner classics as well as the Lou Gramm hits (Midnight Blue, Just Between You and Me) and his band was pretty good (two of his brothers were in the band). Great performance and a fun night of reliving the hits of my youth.

There's a band that does that...Apologetix...they're terrible...and I like Christian rock.
