I wonder if Snoop can go anywhere without people offering him joints. Those are the kind of problems you wanna have.

I was interested until I saw they weren't coming to Indy this year.

So the Eagles aren't touring this year?

I had a kid try to tell me that 311 was a front band for the White Supremacists. Why?

311. The eleventh letter in the alphabet is K. 3 X K = KKK.

I don't know if he was stoned too. What a moran.

That was going around a lot whenever 311 first debuted twelve or thirteen years ago. I remember that 311 shirts were banned for about three months at my high school until the principal finally decided it wasn't racist code.

Dasboot 2008-07-10 02:47:52 PM
already have my ticket for the Aug 2 show. $500 is a screaming deal, too.

mofomisfit 2008-07-10 02:48:23 PM
I guess I shouldn't say "debuted" but whenever that "Down" single first got big.

Copied from Wiki:

"The name actually came from a skinny dipping incident when Jim Watson, the band's former guitarist, was charged with indecent exposure by the Omaha Police Department and was escorted home handcuffed and naked. The police code which appeared on the citation was "3.11"

I got to see them at Sokol Auditorium in Omaha. Sokol is one of the first venues they played in the neighborhood they grew up in. It was a great show, their families were there, friends from growing up.

Saw them another time at the Warped Tour in Tinley Park outside of Chicago too.

angryjd:Really interesting considering Snoop Dogg doesn't smoke weed anymore. (new window)

I saw him on Sunday, and the massive blunt he grabbed from the crowd begs to differ.

I'll be seeing this tour on the 20th for my birthday. It will be my fourth 311 concert :)

I got to see 311 play about 10 years ago. Great show at the time, but I haven't liked much of their material after the first 3 albums.

JihadMakeMeHungry 2008-07-10 03:26:19 PM
I don't usually give a damn about lyrics, but I quit listening to 311 because of them. That's some retarded shiat. I otherwise like their music, first couple of albums, anyway.

Sherjo311 2008-07-10 03:37:26 PM
I'm hoping to go... 311 is always a great show. I wish they'd get their shiat together though, DTOM was a waste of time.

The only things that could make this concert any better is an impromptu appearance by Shaq!

/Psycho! Psycho!

The music is what I notice first, then the lyrics. Their lyrics have always been pretty crappy, and their music went down the shiatter after the first 3 albums.

A friend of my brother's works at a hotel here in Vancouver BC and got to check Snoop and his 'posse' out a couple weeks ago. They had rented out an entire floor and left behind many goodies like clothes, half-finished bottles of Hennessey, and maybe a quarter ounce of weed. Apparently when he tried to check one posse guy out of the hotel, he said that he had no idea where the fark he was and just gave my brothers buddy a wad of cash to take him to the tour bus.
The rooms were pretty messy but nothing was damaged and apparently Snoop and the other guys were nothing but classy and polite to all the hotel staff.

You, uh, want to hang out? (bring the weed) And what hotel did they stay at?

i'll be there on the 13th in Columbus.

I have never seen a 311 show, nor have I ever been a fan. I am, however, interested in keeping an open mind and going to shows when possible. I decided to catch an HD Net concert replay on Sunday. IMHO it was absolutely unwatchable. I'm sure being there is half the experience. I like to watch live music Sunday on HD Net and this was one of the few times I have purposely turned the channel.

They played Rothbury.

I saw Snoop - yes, he's smoking again.

I passed on 311, I chose going back to camp for lovin' instead.

While Sublime had better songs, they still lose due to Brad Nowell being so farktarded to OD on heroin.

Sokol Hall is nowhere near where those priviliged kids grew up.

I saw 311 in Bozeman in 2000 (or 2001?... Can't remember...)

Awesome show. Would see them again in a heartbeat.

It's funny how the Omaha music scene considers 311 a joke.

Ok, let's all try to name other bands we know from Omaha.

Here goes.

Ok that's it.
