Yeah, but they were Great White fans, so I think of it as more of a "cull".

Because Great White and Warrant are so hip with the cool kids of today.

Great White should have been given a medal for that night.

What kind of douchebag would even think that they could hold a candle to the success of the Beatles?

There is a Beatles cover band floating around my area named "The Wonderwall Band".

I am aware that this is George Harrison's first solo album, but it still cracks me up every time. What with those Oasis douches thinking they are the next Beatles and all.

I am not offended but I know people who died there. They were just out for the night at the bar.

RIP

The joke was in bad taste, but that's not surprising. I don't come to fark for the clean jokes.

Some of the greatest music ever written reimagined with big hair and cherry pie sensibilities. I guess it can't be worse than that BeeGee/Peter Frampton abortion that was the "Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" movie.

And here I always thought it was physically impossible to both suck and blow at the same time..

Well at least they understand that going in.

Didn't anyone check out the Jani Lane thread earlier? This is gonna be like if Michael J. Fox made Light of Day after the Parkinson's kicked in.

Interviewed Jack Russell a year or two after the fire, when they were touring to raise money for the victims' fund. This was after several days of wrangling with the band's publicist, who made Russell available on the condition that I not ask him anything about the fire. Usually I'd never agree to such a condition, but I had a deadline looming, and I figured, well hell, there's no way he'll go a half hour without bringing it up himself, so I said OK.

And of course, all Jack wanted to talk about was the fire. I never had to bring it up. So I got my story.

It wasn't Great White, it was the club owner.

Just some skiffle band. Nothing long lasting or anything.

What, they didn't invite Noel Gallagher?

Much more interesting if there's at least one douchebag in the band.

That fire in RI was horrible.... but really... it was an accident. No pound of flesh...no 100 lbs of flesh will bring people back. Its not as if Great White pulled out their guns and started shooting people. It was a horrible accident. You could hate RI for their corrupt politics too. A lot of things set up this tragedy. But making them suffer, and suffer, and suffer just to give you/some families a sense of pay back is just not right. Forgive and move on with your life. Be bigger than revenge.

As for the whole Beatles thing.... some kids are dumb asses. That band was amazing. You don;t see something like that come along very often. Of course some would say RAP was better, or Brittany Spears was better.... again just a lot of being dumb-asses. I can;t see a couple of nothing bands doing what the Beatles already can do for themselves.

so when do the Beatles get together and form an American blues tribute band? Oh wait, they can't cause they're dead and/or irrelevant.

/flame away Beatles cock gobblers.

That's no small thing that you're asking.

Maybe. Or perhaps they just hold a differing opinion than that what you hold. I admire some [not all] of the recorded output of The Beatles and I am not unaware of what cultural impact their music had to the world.

Yet, I do not agree with the subtext that permeates most discussion of the Beatles' music that they were so groundbreaking and musically magnificent and all-encompassing of all that music can ever be that music should have ceased to be composed or recorded following their disbanding.

I do not think that they were the be all end all of musical composition. In fact, there were many musicians doing their own thing during the years the Beatles were together whom I prefer exponentially to the Beatles.

That band was amazing.

I'd temper it and say in the main they were very good.
