Same as most Lyle Lovett records - it was designed to make Nashville music executives' heads asplode. A good thing, considering how they've short-changed authentic talents from Johnny Cash on down.

Big Lyle Lovett fan, always did like this song, but after I bought the CD and laughed at it a few times, I admit to skipping straight from "The Blues Walk" to "Cryin' Shame."

I love this.

But I tend to love the things on the music link that everyone else hates.

Too bad all you haters dont appreciate talent.

Great song, excellent band and true American music.

Plus Lyle has the added advantage of having boned Julia Roberts, often and repeatedly.

Scoff all you want NOW, but back in the day she was a fine piece.

Joshua Judges Ruth is likely his most accessible. Not to say his other stuff *isn't*, but JJR has some great hooks.

I started with Pontiac, then Lyle Lovett and His Large Band. Either one's a good start. You'll want more after that.

I'm a big fan of I Love Everybody. Creeps Like Me and Fat Babies are great songs.

This album only came out like, 20 years or so ago.
