The cost I think would be on a sliding scale, depending on what country the work was done in.

For what they charge for 1st class these days, I pick "C".

C)? That would be my A) move. If economy passangers want to get off before me maybe they should stop being so poor.

I sincerely hope this jackass does some jail time.

SecretAgentWoman 2008-07-06 09:30:46 PM
I don't blame him. How dare they treat him like just another passenger?

First class people get gold toilet seats, champagne and caviar, and free BJs - they should be the first ones to disembark!

This guy is lucky that he is probably rich and was able to pay off the guyanese officials. He would be under the jail if he tried to pull this stunt in America, and the Airport would probably be shut down because of 'Terra.

If an airbag in a car is $1000, how much do you think this costs to fix???

Meh, sounds like he's the type who sees that his wealth entitles him to behave any way he sees fit. I'd probably do this too if the thousands of dollars he'll have to pony up was just chump change to me.

markcant 2008-07-06 09:31:12 PM
First class passenger? Nah. I'd say third-class at best.

Manfred J. Hattan 2008-07-06 09:33:41 PM
Every single one of you farkers has wanted an excuse to do this. Me too. Fine him the amount of drinks he'll be able to milk this story for for the next couple of years; everything he gets after that is his.

Shadooby [TotalFark] 2008-07-06 09:36:03 PM
Jesus, what is it about being wealthy that seems to engender such entitlement (assholery?) in people? Isn't it enough just to be well off? You already know you're driving back to a more luxurious home in a nicer automobile than most people-- why do you have to do shiate like this, speed down the shoulder so you merge ten cars ahead of everyone else, etc?

markcant 2008-07-06 09:36:20 PM
And isn't getting off simultaneously overrated? I mean, at least according to "The Joy of Sex."

But then again I've always wanted to fly first class, too... so that works out.

Even better, they were in Guyana. Even if he does get off first, he's still in Guyana.

Seriously, though, these people would be SO surprised to be the first up against the wall if the 'class warfare' they're always screaming about were to come to pass.

I used to work for an airline so I know first class pretty well ( I was a campus rep for a major US airline and for whatever reason they gave us full employee privileges). The only time it is EVER worth is it when you are flying international. Nice glass of champagne when you board and a hot towel with a bunch of meals.

I DRTFA but if this cat was on a domestic flight then fark him, but otherwise our international passengers pay a BIG premium for the luxury of leaving first so i honestly don't blame the man.

/yes i am here to answer questions, worked for the BIGGEST american airline so have at me.

hell for what you pay for first class and what you get... the least you could do is get off first... Now jumping off the plane is a bit extreme but hey, he got his money's worth

Haoie 2008-07-06 09:42:02 PM
Who usually gets to leave first after landing?

It's been a few years since I've flown, but I always remember the business [or higher] passengers disembarking first.

GZJohn 2008-07-06 09:42:16 PM
Somehow, when I saw this my first thought was "China Southern Airlines". Imagine my shock when it turned out to be an actually civilized country like Guyana.

If this had been on my plane, I would have laughed my arse off. Then the slow realization that I would be stuck in Guyana until mx fixed the slide.

I'll have a go. Stastically, isn't it less likely that he's a real live rich guy but rather a schmoe like the rest of us who happened to finally get enough Platinum Points or whatever to get an upgrade? Or is that less likely on international flights?

I love the breathtaking audacity you have in which you complain about rich people's entitled attitude while in the same paragraph suggesting it is okay to execute them for the horrible crime of being more wealthy than you.

Usually the first class and business class deplane first, but if the aircraft has the jetbridge connected to a mid-cabin exit only, there is the possibility of some of the commoners escaping first.

It's VERY likely this guy is a schmoe like you who has stumbled on enough points to get this, however, the fact that he has flown enough to get such status is irrelevant. We have a seperate stewardess (or two) who ONLY caters to the higher classes of an airline flight. If a passenger has flown enough to get that privilege to get above "cattle class", then he is worthty of the airline's love in their eyes ;)

Oh, I understand. I'm just enjoying the typical Fark class warfare over a guy who's probably a low-level bauxite salesman or something like that.

I think what he may have meant is that, for average suckers like myself, we kinda have to just let it roll off our backs because-- *shrug*-- a) some people are just assholes and, b) hey, even if he's rich, he's got to live in that fevered, Me-First brain of his.

But once this nation's economic scales tip to the point where most of us poor/average suckers can't afford to leave the county we live/work in, AND our crap jobs don't give us health care, AND our children are practically starving, etc.? Well, we're gonna slit those rich throats first because, well, they had a good ride and hell, they WERE being entitled assholes, to boot.

Plus, what's the hurry to get off the plane first? You have the most comfortable seats and free drinks. What's the impetus to be the first one STANDING by baggage claim waiting for your crap to be unloaded? Wouldn't it be better to stay on the plane and refresh your buzz while we file out of steerage? Gives you another chance to sneer at us. What's THAT worth to you upper-crusters?
