Not to say you're shallow subby but I've met deeper mirrors.

She's 64! Give her a break! In her twenties, she was totally hot.

"Every little thing he said was bisected, dissected and looked at as a mysterious message from the gods."

Oh man. That's a lyric.

Bisected
Disected
Resurrected you, babe.

Forever young, subby.

Swing back by when you hit 64, Subby. I'm sure you'll still look just like your fabulous 2008 self.

"Scary"? Did she chase you off her lawn, submitter? I've seen a lot worse of people 10 years younger than that or more.

Anyway, might be an interesting read.

She looks wonderful for 64.

My wife turns 57 next month ;)

I don't mean to target anyone in this thread personally, but I find it bizarre that, on the same website that constantly makes fun of unattractive females (I'm talking mainly about the Sarah Jessica Parker/horse jokes), we have this sort of response when subby makes fun of somebody else in a similar way.

Old age.

If you don't experience yourself, it's because you're dead.

There's quite a difference, don't you think, between a "star" and a 64-year-old writer. Maybe the 60+ crowd you're around is more routinely glamorous, but I doubt it. And it does seem a bit of a stretch that her looks would be the thing that most notably caught submitter's attention. To my thinking, anyway.

Good point.

My point is just that around here, usually anything goes as far as making fun of people, but every once in awhile someone gets called on it and is made to feel bad about a comment that wouldn't have been such a big deal on any other random day.

There's another thread on the main page where the submitter used a "stupid" tag making fun of a 91-year old woman's mistake, and a bunch of people have jumped on him and said he should've used the "sad" tag, that it wasn't fair to call her stupid because she's 91. And yet, one of Fark's favourite clichés is to make fun of old drivers and their magnetic attraction to farmer's markets.

I like old hippies, who've led full lives and aren't obsessed with how they look and as a result usually look pretty damn good.

Well, nobody ever said consistency was one of our stronger points, right? You roll the dice, you take your chances... Lady Snark is a cruel mistress sometimes.

There's a big difference between mocking a tabloid star for not being as attractive as the media would make you think she is and mocking a random 64-year-old woman for looking...64.

I'd hit it.
Then I'd raid her medicine cabinet.

I like the 'seventh string on his guitar' line. I can see why she was his muse. Cool lady and thanks to her we have some kickass songs.

/btw, subby, have you seen Dylan lately? Pretty much everyone gets to lookin' like an old shoe at some point in their lives.

Man, the music tab subbies are retards today.

I think a lot of the reverence for the 60's, the hippies, and Greenwich in general is misplaced and/or misguided by folks who were alive during the time and missed it, or are too young to have been there at all.

I'm going to pick up the book today. Should be an interesting read, but I'm hopeful that Ms. Rotolo doesn't suffer from the same sense of self-importance that Mrs. Baez suffers from. She was nearly unbearable in No Direction Home, not to mention how she killed Dylan: Live 1964.

She's just older now, that's all.
Plus she's been blowin' in the wind. I hear that'll take a lot out of you.

Eh, Dylan's second wife inspired better songs, for example the ones on "Blonde on Blonde".

Err, that would've been Dylan's first wife, Sara Lowndes (sp?).

Meanwhile, old Bob looks like a serial killer. I'd cross the street if I saw him.

I saw him live a few years ago, and the years have not been kind to his voice, either. It was like someone was shaking a can of gravel next to the mic.
