When the stores get cleaned out of brownies, potato chips & other munchies we'll know that the firefights have found yet another hidden pot garden.

So, [Seinfeld voice] what's the deal with this Cali Cannibis?

How is this outdoor-grown stuff better than engineered hydro?

... unless it's the stuff I used to get back in college in the late 80s, where you can actually smoke a joint, get high & enjoy it ~ not take a single-hit off a 'dro strain and spend the next 3 hours on a paranoid mindtrip whilst on the Planet Neptune with a magical faerie troupe.

Although I stopped smoking weed last year, after 10 years of smoking I came to really appreciate outdoor weed. It's a much more relaxed smoke, and less likely to cause anxiety. Living in the Netherlands and smoking intensively grown indoor weed every day will fark you up eventually, but in most coffeeshops that's all you'll find.

Organic outdoor homegrown ftw.

Most of the weed grown in Cali is from the much wetter north. Santa Ana's only effect Southern California. But, in general, they dry out everything (skin, beef jerky, etc.)

The name of this song is 'The Wildwood Flower'
Now 'The Wildwood Flower' is an old country classic
It gained a whole new popularity
The song isn't any more popular
But the flower is doin' real good

The wildwood flower grew wild on the farm
And we never knowed what it was called
Some said it was a flower and some said it was weed
I didn't gave it much thought...
One day I was out there talking to my brother
Reached down for a weed to chew on
Things got fuzzy and things got blurry
And then everything was gone
I Didn't know what happened
But I knew it beat the hell out of sniffin' burlap

I come to and my brother was there
And he said, 'What's wrong with your eyes?'
I said, 'I don't know, I was chewing on a weed'
He said, 'Let me give it a try'
We spent the rest of that day and most of that night
Trying to find my brother, Bill
Caught up with him 'bout six o'clock the next mornin'
Naked, swinging on the windmill
He said he flew up there
I had to fly up and get him down
He was about half crazy

The very next day we picked a bunch of them weeds
And put 'em in the sun to dry
Then we mashed 'em up and we cleaned 'em all
And put 'em in the corncob pipe
Smokin' them wildwood flowers got to be a habit
We didn't see no harm
We thought it was kind of handy
Take a trip and never leave the farm

A big ol' puff on the wildwood weed
Next thing you know
We's just wandering behind the little animals
All good things gotta come to an end
And it's the same with the wildwood weed

One day this feller from Washington come by
And he spied us and he turned white as a sheet
And he dug and he burned
And he burned and he dug
And he killed all our cute little weeds
Then he drove away
We just smiled and waved
Sittin' there on that sack of seeds

Y'all come back now, ya hear

That's all I smoke. It doesn't do that to me. HOWEVER, if I go a week or so (or even a few days) and then take a toke of that Cali green, yes, I get paranoid as hell and I am reminded of the true power of the stuff. Your daily smoker can function normally (driving, working, etc.) but if you don't normally smoke it, I wouldn't advise doing anything but sitting on your ass watching cartoons with a box of your favorite chocolate chip cookies. Oh, and Funyuns.

He said he'll smoke outdoor. That is hardly a weed snob. I won't touch that crap. If you want to call someone a weed snob, you can direct it over here.

The weed today, (at least in Cali) Varies in taste, smell, smoke, texture, density, and effect. There are virtually limitless amounts of strains, all different. You might compare it to another intoxicant, wine. But when someone enjoys a fine wine, they are not "wine snobs" they are connoisseurs. I consider myself an indica connisseur. Weed snob sounds so... square.

It's not better, in fact, it's not even comparable. However, it's cheaper to buy, cheaper to grow and way less risky to grow. And you get way more, way more, from outdoor crops.

Mother nature is not even close to Hydro. The reason u get more is you can't very well have 15 foot plants in your house now can you? SO you make them grow in diff ways and make them bud faster etc

FTFA: Los Padres National Forest is one of the places the County of Monterey Marijuana Eradication Team often searches for the illegal crop, scanning the rugged terrain from a helicopter.

It's beyond absurd to me that the government spends money on helicopter missions to kill marijuana plants. Maybe they make enough money from their immoral property seizures to cover this sort of malice?

I wasn't talking about quantity. I was referring to quality, and I'll gladly put my money where my mouth is:

100% organic outdoor Northern Lights = $400/oz
100% organic outdoor DJ Short Blueberry = $600/oz

Ounces fill two ziploc bags to bursting, with absolutely zero seeds, not crushed for transport, totally fluffy. Lasts forever, and I'll smoke an eighth per day of commercial varieties, easy.

scuffer 2008-07-06 10:38:37 AM
The finds can be substantial. For example, in 2006, COMMET seized and destroyed more than 17,152 plants in the forest, eliminating a crop with a potential street value of $85.8 million.

Interesting, the 17,000 plant crop found last week was only valued at $43mil ($2500 per plant). Obviously forrest ditch weed is worth more than hydro weed. Either that or this is proof theyre pulling numbers out of their ass. Unless its dropped 50% in price in 2 years.. and a good friend assures me it hasnt.

Pfffft, let's talk Life Flights. Guy got a ride in a helicopter here the other day because a firecracker went off in his hand. Talk about silly waste, add the drop of drug-spotting flights into the vast bucket of slop that is Life Flights.

Outdoor pot simiply doesn't compare, sorry. If you've ever gotten seeds in your pot, well "they're doing it wrong", as you've been given pot from a female, oh nevermind. Outdoor simply isn't as potent as indoor. That is a fact. Now, that is not to say you can't get awsome outdoor weed. Some people know what they are doing, and have good strains.
