This time, police did not let him make any more calls. They arrested Vallejo and charged him with making false 911 calls, a misdemeanor. He was released yesterday at 2:51 p.m. yesterday on $500 bail, according to jail records, which list Vallejo as a pitcher with the Pittsburgh Pirates.

LOL WUT?

Dude, this one time I got dropped off at my house after a night at the bar, I went walking back to the bar to get my guitar from my car. Being drunk, I saw a police car and ran off into the woods. I ended up falling into a 9' by 15' hole. After an hour of not being able to get out of this hole I called 911. After they found me and dropped a latter down I was arrested for inciting a panic. After going to court twice I ended up having to pay a $300 fine. That was total bullshiat. Don't get drunk and fall into a hole in Cleves, Oh.

No offense, but it proves that some holes are nicer than others.

Come to Missouri, when someone falls in a hole and is rescued they interview who rescued then and they interview you and show it on the news for 20mins as some amazing story.
Or at least I know I see a story of someone stuck in a hole once a year on local news.
/If only they gave the full forecast at the beginning of the broadcast.

Is illegal to be drunk in Ohio?

Even if it it, it's still highly recommended.

I dunno. I kinda enjoyed the imagery of them dropping a Mormon down on you.

I wonder who he made his one phone call to.

I know a man who did exactly that. He was picked up for a domestic disturbance just after 911 went live and proceeded to call the cops back out on his girlfriend. When they arrived she told them the complaintant was already in custody. They were not amused.

The jail phone system was updated shortly afterwards.

/but it's still a good story, even twenty years later

I kid you not, this is a true story. One time when I was working this guy was calling 911 and kept hanging up, so when we go to check his place, the guy says he wants to be arrested because his wife was annoying him and he would rather be in jail. Turns out he had a warrant out for his arrest in another county, but the other county wouldn't extradite him, so we couldn't arrest him. Needless to say the guy was pissed when he found out we wouldn't arrest him despite his warrant. We ended up telling the guy that we wouldn't arrest him no matter how many times he called 911 for his bullshiat, but we would just keep writing him tickets for it. We weren't called back. Good times. I love my job.

I called 911 once for a non-emergency (I had a question about Xanax), and wound up getting Baker acted for it. This guy pushed his luck by calling repeatedly.

If you knew it wasn't an emergency why did you call? Here, let me show you something new on the internets, it's called "Google".

Ehh, if he *really* wanted to go to jail, he could have just punched you. In most places that's a felony and at least a year as a guest of the state.

My Grandpa was called 911 4-5 times from his nursing home. He was trying to call someone at x4911 but the buttons were hard to press and sometimes missed the "4". The police would come rushing, make their report, and be gone. The police weren't upset as Grandpa did it in good faith. We then taught him how to use speed-dial.
