Graham was obviously making a silly joke. This article is so ridiculous, you'd expect it to be from the 'Kos or the Puffington Post. But it's the LA Times. Who's slashing their staff down. The boat is sinking, and they're still drilling holes to let the water out...

Definitely a joke. And surprisingly not one of age-related death.

I heard he had a rocket launcher on his shoulder when he said it.

"I could get the nomination if you sink that boat."

April 14, 1912 - 1,517 lives lost

Never forget, Senator. Never forget.

FTFA: Lieberman? Not so quippy -- he just occasionally waved at McCain during the 15 minutes at sea.

Oh, Joe - you're such a flirt!

Wouldn't May 7, 1915 be a more appropriate date?

I keep forgetting Lindsey Graham is a guy . . .

TFA:"McCain was in another vessel -- a faster, drug-interdiction speedboat called the Midnight Express."

So Graham wanted to stop the swift boat?

McCain has quite a few closeted screamers around him. Governor Crist, Senator Graham. Is Larry Craig or that $20 blowjob state rep from Florida on his veep list as well?

Heh. That's actually quite funny.

/go SC!

What are you saying? That reading isn't important? Well let me tell you that reading is the foundation of a good education.

I don't why the term "screamers" make me laugh but it did.

Perhaps someday we will see a WaPo article start with the sentence...

"Today in Dallas, McCain and his vaunted phalanx of homos...."

Just think - the next four months are going to get dumber.

What an inane blog post.

Although the image of Lieberman forlornly waving at McCain from the other boat is pretty humorous.

NTTAWWT, but the phrase "vaunted phalanx of homos" made me laugh.

As a SC resident, I severely despise lindsey graham.

But his joke was amusing.

Graham and Joe Lieberman are traveling with McCain

I really can't wait to see this guy ruined.

Makes Sen. Graham sound like a jerk. (not exactly a news flash)

Of course, if anyone who wasn't a Republican said the same thing, Fox 'News' would cover it every day for 2 weeks.

Larofeticus:/lindsey is a bottom

That's been my guess, as well, as a former SC resident.

One of the more amusing things about McCain's campaign, for me anyway, is how there are so few non-loser Republicans in public office right now that he can pick from to advise him. He has a bunch of idiots, religious lunatics, and corrupt scumbags because that's what most of the influential Republicans are. He's going to have a tough choice picking a running mate, given how much baggage so many Republicans have.

That'll get him the Israel First vote.. and no one else.

Don't see it. McCain will pick a good-looking, charismatic conservative to try and rally the conservative base...

Best money: Romney

Ron Paul Revere:BravadoGT:Best money: Romney

Romney will not rally the evangelical base. They don't like Mormons. You put your money on that horse, you might as well just give it to me and let me spend it on hookers and blow.

They are, however, decently big fans of the Jews. They see them as their little lost children.

More importantly, Lieberman would be the best choice to really create a centrist ticket that would appeal to undecided independents, the most important bloc in this election. McCain wouldn't lose any significant Republican support, as Lieberman is a Zell Miller-type Democrat who Republicans hold in some regard. He's no more liberal on but a few issues than McCain, and very much more conservative on others.

It's a seemingly odd idea on its face, but it would be the one brilliant move McCain would ever make.

I just don't see conservatives getting excited by putting a Democrat (albeit, a conservative one) on the ticket. If I got to pick McCain's veep, I'd go with Alaska's Governor Sarah Palin:

Ron Paul Revere:They really wouldn't have any choice. They're already grinning and bearing it for McCain as it is. What's one more little thing like that, especially considering the independent vote he'd likely sway? This is about winning, right?

Do independents actually like Lieberman? I have trouble believing anyone could like him at this point. Breaking with your party on major issues doesn't necessarily mean you're a moderate; it may just mean you're an extremist on various issues, but not in a way that aligns with the traditional "right/left" spectrum. That's basically how I view Lieberman. He's an extreme hawk, which doesn't make him a moderate liberal. It just means he's an extremist on that issue.
