Don't get me wrong, Laffy Taffy is probably the whackest farking shiat I've ever heard in my life, but I bet that the Atlanta snap hip hop shows are the greatest things in the world. I want to go out of curiosity because they seem like they would be absolutely nuts

9. "With Arms Wide Open" by NickleCreed

I never say this but THIS. Holy shiat did that song suck ass. And all the soccer mom hens at the office getting weepy when they heard it, I wanted to bring a gun to work.

1. "My Heart Will Go On" by Celine Dion

Avogadro's number + 1, THIS Besides the movie being a trite piece of shiat, they had t bring that song in to add a rusty trombone to the Cleveland Steamer.

The only thing missing on that list is Elton John's remake of his dead blond song.

/actually, that was 11 years ago
//So rock is truly dead then (on the radio anyway)

I knew this crazy chick in college who swore that "Butterfly" song was written about her. Personally, if I were going to go around claiming a song was written about me, it would never be anything by Crazy Town.

How about we add every one-hit-wonder that came out in the past 10 years tot his suck list...

\except "cause I got high" because it makes me laugh

If this song didn't kill hip-hop, then it certainly gave it AIDS.

that's gold, Jerry.

"Butterfly" by CrazyTown.

I saw Crazytown in concert a few years ago. Don't give me any hell--they were on the lineup at OzFest.

Anyway, every single band came out on stage like this:

"You stupid motherf*uckers! F*ck you! Get the f*ck out of your f*cking seat and get your hands in the f*cking air!" Or something to that effect.

Disturbed, Marilyn Manson, Black Label Society, Mudvayne, Otep, on and on. Every damned one of them, and I'm thinking, "Hey, man, what's with the hate? I paid 46 bucks for this ticket!"

Then Crazytown comes out like this. Lead singer in a pleasant, cheerful voice: "Hi, guys! We're Crazytown from Hollywood, California, and we hope you're enjoying the show!"

And I replied, "Yes, Crazytown, I AM enjoying the show. Thank you."

So Crazytown. Can't stand their music, but I can't fault their manners.

Yes, #1 hits are usually on top 40 radio.

Everything you want? Thats a great song. I can't really fault the rest though.

Don't know if it ever made number one though...

Proud to say I only knew about half of that suckfest.

TheSilverOne 2008-07-03 12:52:47 PM
While that is a great list, there are two many unforgiveably awful #1 singles in the past ten years to limit it to only 10.

And it wasn't a number #1 single, but as bad as "Butterfly" was their other single "Revolving Door" was even worse.

This douchebag a friend of mine was dating quoted that song when telling me about all the women he banged on the side while with my friend.

I told my friend about that, she didn't believe me. Long story short, we're not friends anymore. I blame the incident entirely on Crazy Town.

FeedTheCollapse 2008-07-03 01:03:30 PM
I can think of some worst song, yet I really can't argue with that list.

NYRBill 2008-07-03 01:04:55 PM
I just came here to say I've never heard most of those

FeedTheCollapse 2008-07-03 01:11:46 PM
I would also add:

- Hollaback Girl
- London Bridges
- any Avril Lavigne, but more specifically that Girlfriend song.
- Hey Delilah
- Coldplay's Yellow (yeah, the hate for them is a bit extreme, but this really is a shiatty song)
- anything by Fallout Boy
- anything by Disturbed
- anything by Papa Roach
- any Limp Bizkit
- fark, any emo or nu-metal

eh, too muhc to list.

DRTFA (at work), but I'm sooooo glad I don't listen to radio anymore, and I'm estatic that nobody in my office has one, either. *Cries tears of joy.* Finding a station that doesn't suck anymore is a futile search. Where are my goddamned 80s, hard rock, and metal stations? F*ckers... Most popular music just makes me grit my teeth in pain, but sh*t like that goddamned umbrella song or the hollerback or whatever the hell she's singing about fill me with a stabbity rage. I thought for the longest time that she was singing about a "hall of fat girls," and that the chorus was chanting "that's the splits." What...the...fark... Not like the real lyrics make any more sense. Gaaaaaah, I need to kill things now...

Lots of hate for Hey There Delilah and I agree. Unfortunately, it's my 9 year old daughter's favorite song and she makes us play it every gig she can go to (just me and the singer). Of course, maybe that's why I don't let her go as much anymore.

She'll even have her friends over at the house - "Hey, listen to my daddy play Hey There Delilah"" - and I want to shoot myself.

Holy crap! I just suffered my way through that travesty of a song for the first time at work today. That is just plain awful! It's her regular bubblegum punk, only with added bits of Gwen Stefanie and Fergie here and there throughout the song.

Cant you just say the previous 10 number one singles?

Music today sucks ass, every generation says that about the next but this generation does really suck.

Almost all popular music, yes. This could have been a top 50 list, and still left some songs off.

Every generation's pop music sucks. Always has, always will. That's its function, to suck. But rock has a longer half-life. I see kids at the mall with Ramones and Led Zepllan t-shirts. I don't know if they're posers or not but the point is you won't see any kids wearing Kris Kross t-shirts anywhere.

The problem now is that they don't play rock on regular radio stations anymore.

James Blunt, "You're Beautiful."

The absolute worst song ever isn't even on the radio. It's that farking song on that eSurance commercial where the douchenozzle with the guitar sings "it's ok to be yourself". It's the most God awful thing that has ever hit my ears.

Concur... it was a well-written song. The author pegged it as unexciting but it was still good. Certainly better than "My Humps," but I have no idea if that was #1.

Farkomatic:I make no apologies for enjoying Daughtry's "It's Not Over". I think it's a great tune. Suck it haters.

Just for sh*ts and grins, next time that comes on, sing the words to "Hemorrhage in my Hands" in original rhythm and key. It is basically a 100% rip of Fuel's song, the one that was his signature on Idol. Then he turned Fuel down, which arguably was a terrific business decision, But he's just a copycat.

Aldo the Wonder Dog 2008-07-03 02:25:35 PM
Don't know most of these, but IMO, Vida Loca wasn't all THAT bad. Catchy, uptempo, good use of brass, highly danceable, well produced, pretty much what you'd want a pop single to be. Certainly a lot more listenable than much of the emo, whiny wannabe chanteuses, overdramatic poster boys and unimaginative hip-hop out there.

/otherwise not a Rick Martin fan
//except when he played for the Sabres

Oh yeah, "this."

Never really understood this part of the song:

"Two more years and you'll be done with school
And I'll be making history like I do"

So, cool, you're dating a sophomore in High School and you're impressing her with your "big dreams." Whee!

/of course, they could be of college age, but it's easier to picture them as emo kids

Creed sucked ass, and I was excited when they broke up. Didn't their lead singer kill himself? Oh I hope so!
