he was one of the first i think to use the Floyd Rose, so certainly not sacrilege.

the Floyd itself isn't sacrelig. Most of my guitars have had them too. It just seemed so out of place on a Les Paul.

The reason Alex gets away with a Floyd on a Les Paul is his flawless use of it. He's not out there dive bombing every 3rd note. The man is a genius with a guitar.

Check out Hope from Snakes and Arrows. Perfect example of his acoustic virtuosity and Main Monkey Business for his electric prowess.

There have been a few guitar players with Floyd Roses on a Les Paul, Steve Clarke from Def Leppard comes immediately to mind.

That must be a Brazilian thing. I work with a bunch of them and they're always singing along in Portuguese to pop songs on the radio that are in English and which some of them can't possibly understand, so I've always assumed they're just making up their own words.
