San Francisco...for such a beautiful and fun city, there is no end to the depth of inanity, stupidity, and hypocrisy of the local government

This is why electing a government with complete liberals, with no checks and balances is a horrible idea. However, when I mention this in other threads, I am ridiculed as a right-wing reactionary nut job.

But if this what the good people of SF are voting for, then they deserve whatever they get.

I don't quiet get why that is queer now, ...

Anyhow, funny story, the City of San Fransisco must have quiet some money. Or none of it and no idea how to properly work with some.

I mean, do I get this right, actually those flights back aren't but first class deportations ... ? With the chance on returning maybe, later?

Very creative idea to support the War against Drugs.

Well, not ...

I thought California was broke, but maybe San Fran is not to be able to afford this. I wonder if they pay the baggage fees also.

I'm on the city council, and we totally planned this out so that drug dealers get undeserved amnesty and can wreak havoc. Damn you subby! How do you know our evil and retarded plans so well?? Huh? How do you?

Oh why does our extremist positioning come back to haunt us every time? Can't we just be normal extremists and practice our extremism in peace, without being attacked by geniuses like Subby?

The core problem is identified in these statements:
City officials say they are trying to balance their obligations under federal and state law with local court orders and San Francisco's policies aimed at protecting the rights of the young immigrants, who they say are often victims of exploitation.

He said the city's stance is that it does not have to report illegal immigrant minors to the federal government, even if they are found in Juvenile Court to have committed a crime.

"We are not obligated to," he said. "We are abiding by the sanctuary city ordinance."

They are under the mistaken impression that local laws can supersede federal laws. San Francisco should no longer receive any kind of federal welfare or funding.

Falcc 2008-06-29 11:02:36 PM
If only there were some way to drop San Francisco onto Washington DC from the air. The two would tear each other apart and save the country a lot of suffering.

mikemoto:This is why electing a government with complete liberals, with no checks and balances is a horrible idea. However, when I mention this in other threads, I am ridiculed as a right-wing reactionary nut job.

well considering that the people, the TAXPAYERS of San Francisco seem to approve of this stance, seeing as the immigrant sanctuary law has been on the books for almost 20 years, who are you to stick your big government neo-con nose into it.

this isn't a federal issue this is local government spending local tax money in a way that is approved of by local taxpayers to combat the local drug trade without involving the federal government.

FTFA: "...nothing stops them from coming back."

Right, except that they got tricked into coming here, and didn't want to stay. Nice twist there subtard

Also FTFA: "Federal officials also say U.S. law prohibits helping an illegal immigrant to cross the border, even if it is to return home."

There's the real problem right there. "Oh no, =you= can't send them home, =we've= got to do that."

jee2102 2008-06-29 11:11:41 PM
Lehk, since when do the local statutes of a city government take precedence over those of the Federal government? And, please, someone correct me if I'm wrong, possession of crack cocaine in all amounts is a felony, and thereby in the realm of federal jurisdiction. Seems like a huge loophole...

Of course. If everyone's a victim, then we can't expect anything of them right?

I mean, with this kind of thinking, there's got to be only two or three autonomous people in the entire country. That's the only possible way we can have so many f*cking victims and not one person who can be held accountable for their lives and their actions.

Moray 2008-06-29 11:12:48 PM
Didn't an illegal just shoot and kill 3 people in SF and the Mayor tried to play it off as to why second amendment rights should not be used in SF. Hello, the second amendment is for citizens, not non-citizens. The shooter was out free even though he was caught with a gun linked to two shootings he was set free because SF is a sanctuary city. After killing 3 more people for blocking his way in traffic the death penalty will not be used on this illegal immigrant. Maybe he will get a free plane ride back to Mexico. Edwin Ramos, 21, of El Sobrante, who police say is a member of the Mara Salvatrucha (MS-13) street gang, was formally charged late Thursday with three counts of murder in the shooting deaths Sunday of Tony Bologna, 48, and his sons Michael, 20, and Matthew, 16. Police say the slayings happened when Tony Bologna inadvertently blocked Congdon Street in his Honda Civic as the killer was trying to turn onto it.

San Francisco... hey at least our murder rate is lower than Oakland!

DrForrester:They're slaves to the actual dealers, subby. But nice work drawing a few early knee-jerk reactions from drooling Repugnicans who didn't RTFA.

FTFA: Siffermann stressed that the city ships out juvenile offenders to their home countries only after all other rehabilitative efforts have failed, including probation, foster care and juvenile detention.

The strategy is appropriate, Siffermann said, because deporting young offenders would doom them from ever becoming productive residents of the United States.

Now, WHO didn't RTFA?

TorqueToad 2008-06-29 11:16:39 PM
FTA: The strategy is appropriate, Siffermann said, because deporting young offenders would doom them from ever becoming productive residents of the United States.

"It might prevent them from obtaining citizenship," he said, denying them a chance to "take a different course."

Oh no! The juvenile drug dealers that have failed rehabilitation after repeated offenses might NEVER OBTAIN U.S. CITIZENSHIP!! How horrible!

MyPoolLeaks [TotalFark] 2008-06-29 11:18:30 PM
My problem is with the term carte blanche and the use of it. I don't think subby or the SF Gate writer know how to use the term. They were probably looking for clean slate.

SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) -- Mayor Gavin Newsom has threatened to cut hundreds more jobs and another eight percent in spending after the city's deficit ballooned to more than $300 million.

The next round of cuts comes after the mayor's budget office forecasted a $229 million three months ago. Ironically, San Francisco's deficit is increasing even as its revenue and economy continue to grow. But that growth is neither enough to keep up with higher costs of government nor to cover cuts in state funding.

Well, lets be honest, policies about this kind of stuff sucks everywhere along the border, or where there is a substantial number of immigrants committing crimes. Deporting someone to Mexico is a joke, Mexico doesn't give a shiat and they pretty much come right back as soon we dump them over the border. However misguided at least in SF it is due to some kind of active decision, as opposed to everywhere else where it's just laziness/lack of funds. It's getting to where officers in some areas won't bother prosecuting people for driving without a license/registration if the person pulled over is an illegal hispanic, or bothering to ticket them for speeding/breaking the traffic laws if they don't speak english.

People need to realize that there is a lot more thinking and reorganizing we're going to have to do on this subject.

This. Thoroughly.

I might even go so far as to say that the more years you spend in college, the more likely you are to not have any common sense at all. You might be able to quote more Shakespeare, or tell me more about the Mayans, but that won't get the crack dealers out of your neighborhoods.

As TFA clearly proves.
