Good job not providing context to the things about which you're biatching, Guardian Writer. I mean, just for ONE example - Obama said he couldn't cast off Wright for Wright's past comments, and then cast him off AFTER Wright decided to wave his dick around(metaphorically speaking, but I'm sure he'll think of it if Obama's leading in the polls in October) and act like a buffoon in general at some conference. That's called different circumstances.

Party Boy [TotalFark] 2008-06-28 09:32:25 PM
Some of that criticism is shiat, though he's got me on my "telecom" butthurt. I would prefer way more opposition and a hard line stance against that.

mcwebe0 [TotalFark] 2008-06-28 09:33:10 PM
I'll admit that I'm disappointed in Obama's recent choices. He is still the best candidate who ran in the primaries and I'm proud to support him. I hope he returns to his core message, but I have my doubts. We'll see what the next several months reveal.

Etchy333 [TotalFark] 2008-06-28 09:34:34 PM
This past week, Obama expressed surprising disagreement with a Supreme Court ruling that outlawed the death penalty for child rapists (he had previously questioned the rationale of capital punishment).

I don't agree with Obama's stance on this, but really, everyone has their opinion. Just because you're against the death penalty as it is implemented in this country doesn't mean you'll be against it in all circumstances.

Yeah. It's a shocking backslide that someone who thinks, for example, that capital punishment is unfairly applied to minorities might ALSO think that if you rape a kid, you should get the prune juice.

/don't get me started on the laughable biatching about the contents of Obama's iPod

That was hilarious. Maybe the reason the contents of his iPod look like that of a boring middle class family man is because he is a boring middle class family man.

Obama has gone into the prevent defense, despite this election being a statistical tie.

We'll see if he can give us 4 months of refusing to give details or elaborate the ideas he supports.

To some, even the contents of Obama's iPod, recently revealed to Rolling Stone, smacked of political calculation, combining as it did Baby Boomer classics (Stones, Springsteen, Dylan) with highbrow jazz (Coltrane, Miles Davis) mindless top 40 pop (Sheryl Crow) and edgy-but-not-too-edgy hip hop (Jay-Z, Ludacris). Perhaps this playlist should be titled 'Majority Coalition'.

This dude is so calculated, it scares me. He's being told what to say, and in turn, you all are eating it up, no question. No wonder this country is in the shi*ter.

I'm not whining; I'm calling you "mind-bogglingly stupid." I'll break the difference out in words of two syllables or less, if you'd like.

No, he's flush with talking points so easily debunked as to be beneath contempt. The fact that you side with him is quite indicative of your inability to identify reality and generate a cogent argument. You're either a really bad troll or an incredible moron. Either way, it's hysterical to watch you do this bizarre little dance to try and twist reality to your own demented needs.

The innocent man says "no." The guilty man says, "you can't prove anything!"

You're pathetic, and you're defending the actions of a troll because you don't like Obama. You can't even come up with any arguments of your own; you have to parrot those of someone who is being deliberately obtuse. What a sad existence. I'd pity you if I didn't so enjoy making fun of idiots.

You should care because you're likely to get a much more balanced view of the issues and candidates than you'll get from U.S. media.

Now maybe The Guardian is a right leaning paper, dunno.

That being said, I still don't understand why this is news. Welcome to the general election. This is how people have gotten elected since 1972.

Haven't Obama-ites been chanting the mantra about Obama being something new and different? If he's so "new and different" why is he playing politics as usual?

I doubt they'll be any less biased, and arguably less informed.

As for the Obama argument, he may be arguing that he's "new and different", but he's still got to get elected. And you don't get elected by only appealing to a small portion of the electorate, which is what you have to do to win a primary.

You don't have any evidence what so ever. And it's no coincidence that most of the posts deleted in political threads are by the people harassing me.

But basically Obama is an empty suit and it's becoming more and more obvious every day. The Democratic Party is on their way to nominating a flim-flam man who bought the primary using the same sort of tactics that he supposedly opposes.

And if Tacoby were to say the wrong thing, i'm sure some of you trolls would claim i'm Tacoby too.

He'd probably make some more money by offering a "Groupthink filter" that allows for people to automatically ignore those who oppose their ideology.

Oh yeah, aren't liberal democrats supposed to be tolerant?
