If people were really mimicking Grand Theft Auto, this is the kind of thing we'd be seeing more of.

No criminal should be taken to the hospital or given medical treatment of any kind until all victims have been treated. If they end up dying, of their injuries in the meantime, tough.

Every person deserves swift medical care, criminal or not.

Criminals just get shipped off to the nearest Med School, where they can get worked on by first-year students. They need the practice.

From the linked article at the bottom of TFA

"GTA residents have sadly become used to seeing cases where apparent gang members go after each other with guns in some sort of misguided attempt to find their own form of perverted justice. It's a terrible reality, but for many it doesn't touch their lives in any real way - except to increase an already growing perception of overall violence in the city."

Wait, what? Is this liberty city they speak of?

I meant to add:

How about some cost-benefit analysis there? How about looking at all dimensions of the issue rather than just a few saliently negative ones - ones that your availability heuristic is pointing out for you. This is precisely how shiatty laws come to be enacted: people for the most part have an inability to look at the big pictures, at all the factors. They assume that if something is bad in some way, criminalization of it is good. Terrible terrible black-and-white reasoning. Sometimes both choices lead to unpleasant consequences, but which choice leaders to fewer negative consequences?

Anyone catch this Drug hysteria FAIL?

"I got out of the car, grabbed him, restrained him...But I held onto him until the cops came."
...
"It took at least six paramedics and police officers to restrain the violent stranger, who quickly began struggling with them. His irrational actions and his show of strength has cops believing the suspect may have been under the influence of drugs."

Maybe the good Samaritan was on the same drugs, explaining why he could restrain the guy by himself, but it took 6 policemen?

Not to mention the 'hero' had earlier witnessed the very same madman escaping from an assortment of police and medical personnel.

I'm not gonna feel safe until Charlie Correia is a full time crimefighter

His irrational actions and his show of strength has cops believing the suspect may have been under the influence of drugs.

I just love Canadian media...or indeed any media; and the police as well. They are so cautious.

Just say it: "This guy was crazy f*cked up on drugs!" Either that, or Bruce Banner found a way to control the Hulk, because no one else is gonna need six cops and firefighters to strap his ass down on a stretcher.

Do they think they will be sued later: "No way, man, I wasn't stoned, I was...well,I was...no, I'm just really, really, really strong?"
