Awesome Find! Andy Grifith was when TV was truly an influence that America could live by. These days, it's all Farked up with everyone doing anything for their 15 minutes.

Paisley is one of the few new country artists I can stand. His songs always have great story lines, usually a little humor & he's an amazing musician.

It's unfortunate that he'll never receive the recognition he deserves for his guitar skills. He could shred with the likes of Eric Clapton or Carlos Santana any day.

/His "Time Warp" instrumental will blow your mind

Don't worry yourself so. Brad's been getting well-deserved smoke blown up us ass about his awesome guitar playing since he was a kid. He scored the cover of Guitar Player magazine a few months back.

...and unlike a lot of great guitarists, he's a millionaire and has sold a few gazillion records.

Yeah, wow, thanks.

Proof that God loves us and wants us to listen to guitar.

I always liked "Whiskey Lullaby". The line "He put that bottle to his head and pulled the trigger" is chilling.

Why is there so much suck in Country music and so much greatness as well?

Sweet Jesus. My Tele's going to spend some time in the closet now.

You could ask the same about any style of music. 90% of everything is pure craptastic fail.

Yeah, he's definitely made a name for himself in the US and Canada. I'm just saying that since he's a country musician, he's probably not going to achieve the "icon" status of people like Jimi Hendrix, since country music is such a polarizing genre. Rolling Stone magazine left him completely off their "100 greatest guitarists" list, and I don't know if he'd be noticed enough to get an induction into the RnRHoF.

/meh, Brad's probably too busy counting his money to care.

I'll bet Hank III doesn't like it.

Probably because you've never been in a situation where you had to wait for a woman to get ready to go somewhere. It evoked bitter memories for me. Good times.

It's good to see Andy get some work.

Either that or giving himself high-fives while gazing at his smoking hot wife.

Don't like country music, had no idea who Brad Paisley was. I watched it for Andy. Turned out to be a damn fine song and video. As for Andy, he was cool before I was born, and he hasn't lost it.

This is the type of music one would listen to while sitting in a rocking chair on your front porch in the year 1950. Not for me.

A few asides -

Paisley's next album will be a "guitar album" according to him. 13 songs, I believe, and only four of those will have lyrics. Of the songs with lyrics, Paisley said "they're still there more for the guitar stuff than the lyrics."

Regarding the great song Whiskey Lullabye, it was written by Bill Anderson, who appears on a lot of Paisley's albums during the spoken verse comedy features that pop up as hidden tracks and the like. He's written number one hits for himself and others since at least the 1960's.

Oh, and the reason Paisley rules so much? He's from West Virginia.

Yeah, I gotta say, he's one of the very very few mainstream country artists I can tolerate. Actually, he's the only one I can think of at the moment.

And the dude has mad guitar skills. Not to mention a hot wife.
