Poor McCain. The man just isn't what he used to be.

Used to be he'd talk to a guy like that and say "respectfully, sir- you're a f*cking idiot." Now he's courting the assholes and damning gay marriage. I don't get it. He doesn't need the evangelicals. He never did. Why expose himself to that kind of hypocrisy?

I don't get it. He doesn't need the evangelicals. He never did. Why expose himself to that kind of hypocrisy?

A) He doesn't have a shred of integrity in his bones
B) He really does need evangelicals. He isn't going to win without them.

TV pundits.

Who cares though? We know he is a prospect and the fark headline is totally accurate to the article.

Of course, IndyGemini is one of the most dishonest farkers so....

Poor nothing. He made a conscious choice to be like the people who destroyed him in 2000. He made a conscious choice that he was going to do whatever it took to be President.

He's not what he was (or perhaps was pretending to be, who knows) anymore because that's what he wanted to do.

I think I would actually be more likely to vote for him if he looked like that.

And why the defensiveness? Will you criticize Bobby Jindal if he's selected?

I would have hoped that he would have just bi-passed them as a political entity. They have no place in government.

It's unfortunate. He's become another Clinton and another Bush simultaneously. How is that even POSSIBLE?!

Probably. I used to say that I wasn't a single issue voter until Huckabee became a candidate, and then my single issue became "an understanding of the scientific method".

But the fact that Jindal's name is on a list doesn't make him the top VP prospect, as the headline states. Plus, if you read TFA, Jindal's thoughts are so poorly articulated it's hard to tell what he meant.

So the "lie", if there is one, is that Jindal is just a prospect and not the top prospect.

And you equate that with presenting McCain as a demon Nazi insect.

That seems to be a mismatch in scale.

Well, Jindal's heart is in the right place. He knows we need religion in schools.

But, he's pandering to the middle-of-the-road Sunday Christians.

He's afraid to come out and just say, "Yes, we need Christianity in schools." So, he went along with this half-hearted measure brought forth by the Louisiana legislature.

Religion seems to affect a lot of people that way. Worse, some of the craziest ones constitute a voting bloc, and they expect their politicians to be just as bat-shiat insane.

I'm glad I live out west where that idiocy is much less common.

We need religion in schools, for certain. If we can teach kids how crazy religion is when they're young, maybe they can avoid falling into it as adults.

abb3w: For what? You're going to have prayer in schools as long as there are math tests; what more is it good for?

It's good to teach kids about the fundamental values that helped make our country what it once was. Hopefully, if we can use religion in schools to instill those values, our country can once again rise to its former greatness.

Unfortunately, that's not how they'd teach it. They'd teach it as real and that is where the danger lies.

Except, apparently, freedom of religion. You're quite happy to throw that one out.

Which values are those? What I'm seeing from religion these days is deceit and death. I fail to see how those are something to desire.

spqr_ca: Except, apparently, freedom of religion. You're quite happy to throw that one out.

You're free to practice whatever religion you want. However, schools should make certain religions available to the kids so as to provide a good moral compass if the kids choose to accept the help.

This won't stop them from being heathen dirt-worshippers in their off-time at all.

Which values are those? What I'm seeing from religion these days is deceit and death. I fail to see how those are something to desire.

I hope he gets the VP spot so he can screw up the rest of the country instead of just Louisiana. Maybe if we spread his brand of crazy around some, it won't be so bad in one place. You know. Like diluting pollution.
