Also keep in mind that the US still gives corporate welfare to American firms that outsource.

Umm, he is to blame. The money he has taken out of the US economy for his pet war in Iraq may have doomed the world into a Greater Depression.

Maybe Mr. White can call Exxon and ask them for a slice of their 1.2 billion dollar tax break and a little of the 1 billion dollar Exxon Valdez cleanup cost they didn't have to pay. Oh and don't forget the 40 billion dollars in profit they make a quarter.

Since he has been in office, Bush's horrendous financial planning (ie budget) has doubled the national debt causing the dollar to plummet to record lows and the corresponding high inflation has depressed the overall economy.

"But, but, but. Bush don't have no control over that there economy"-Republican ass lickers

submitter: 75% of Americans blame Bush for the faltering economy, decimating the English language

How many of them blame themselves? If I recall correctly pretty much 50% of the voting population thought he was a good idea, twice, and nearly the other 50% though Gore and Kerry were good ideas, respectively. When people ask me why I think the USA is a scary place, I point them to that statistic.

Scott White in TFA: I voted for him both elections, but I wouldn't vote for him again.

Translation: "Oh ayuh, I done my part screwin' up the country. But it ain't my fault."

In 2004 Bush based his campaign almost entirely on being "The War President". I don't know anyone who voted for him in 2004 based on his economic policies. It was war, terrorism, and fear of the death and destruction that the Bush administration virtually promised would happen to us if we elected Kerry.

Wait a minute.. Bush has an "Anti being liked" policy? That's unpossible! If he did have such a policy it would be an amazing success, a landmark achievement.

Amazing success, landmark achievement and George W Bush ... which one of these is not like the others?

Atillathepun: The President doesn't have any control over the economy

That's simply true.

This President has done some things that have made the situation a lot worse- particularly running up our huge debt and destabilizing the main oil-producing region in the world- but the fundamental "screwing up" was done by Alan Greenspan.

Ah, yes, and a single aspect of a candidate's platform, an aspect which has already been a complete clusterfark, is a perfectly reasonable thing upon which to base one's vote. And Kerry was just as much of a farkup.

America is getting exactly what it deserves and people need to look in the mirror and start taking responsibility for that. When 98% of the voting population is voting for one side or the other of the exact same coin, then something is incredibly wrong. Unless that is what people want. Then they get what they deserve.

Enjoy the America you have, people. You voted for it, after all.

Just another example of the electorate not really understanding.
The president does have very little to do with the economy. So yea, it's not really his fault.

No, Barak Obama will not ruin the economy if he's elected president, he just won't stop the Democrat congress from doing it with Veto's - not really his fault but meh.

So who the hell ruined the economy in the last 7 years? This pre-emptive Democrat blaming is hilarious considering the utterly failed policies of the Republican party causing our massive budget problems, plummeting dollar, and weak economy. In fact, I'd be happy if you could point to any sort of correlative information showing how Democratic policies of the last two years have caused economic problems. Or an example of some legislature that is even a fraction as bad as the fact that we've been paying for an unnecessary war with credit while giving obscene amounts of corporate welfare to entire industries that don't need it.

Both are kinda true. Presidents can't manipulate the economy in positive ways, but their policies can have a strong negative effect on the economy.

I want Obama to win in september, but he is economically cluless, but McCain isn't much better.

Yup. It's one of the few words that I'm an utter traditionalist with, mostly because it's a Latin-based word and those meanings aren't supposed to change just because people don't know them...

(another one is people using "Octopi" as a plural, which is utterly stupid, since Octopus (Octopous) is Greek).

Yeah, though. Great headline anyway. I'm just good-naturedly nitpicking. :D

Bushism of the day: "The German asparagus are fabulous."
Very disappointing, compared to the average Bushism.

For example, the previous one: "There is some who say that perhaps freedom is not universal. Maybe it's only Western people that can self-govern. Maybe it's only, you know, white-guy Methodists who are capable of self-government. I reject that notion."

HAHAHAHAHAH

To answer your original question I was say the Congressinal Republicans that got thier collective Asses handed to them in '06 because they acted worse than democrats and thier base punished them for it.

Not pre-emptivly blaming democrats but so far everything they say reaks of worse economy.

What a douche.

The guy won't vote for Bush again, why?

Not because Bush ignored a PDB whose title told him Bin Laden was going to attack inside the US.

Not because Bush has us in two wars with an all-volunteer military (well, voluntary with added rotation times and hold-backs, and multiple combat tours) that is stretched to breaking.

Not because the entire world is fed up with us and our pre-emptive war foreign policy.

Not because half the Bush administration should be indicted for crimes and corruption.

Not because we are on the brink of opening a third front with an invasion of Iran.

No, he won't vote for Bush again because this douche has to take aid to pay his heating bills. Wonder what gas mileage he gets on his car. Most of the people in this country don't bother doing the speed limit. What's the insulation like on his home. Dick.
