"A Few Small Repairs: The Life and Times of a One-Hit Wonder" by Shawn Colvin.

Sounds like riveting reading. I guess if it sells, we can look forward to sordid tell-alls from Tracey Bonham, Jann Arden, Des'ree and Nina Persson, too.

That's what I would've thought, until I got dragged to one of her shows and recognized a couple other tunes. Turns out, she hit the Top 40 again in 1997 with "You and the Mona Lisa", and again in 1998 with "Nothing on Me" (better known as the theme song to .. *shudder* "Suddenly Susan"). Now, you can argue about whether "One Hit Wonder" means Top 10 hit, or Top 40 hit, or something else, but she did put several songs onto the charts.

Oh, and putting all that aside, she actually writes some nice music and is a lot of fun at a show. "Sunny" isn't particularly representative of most of her music.

It's good to see Shawn Colvin's manager here on Fark.

You shut your whore mouth! Putting Kate Bush, one of the most influential and critically acclaimed female artists of all-time in the same breath as Meredith Brooks is heresy of the highest degree.

/Agree on Paula Cole though
//Is she doing porn yet? Hairy Bohemian porn, that is.
