Well, since this is a Weezer thread, I'm sure the "They suck now, they were so much better on their first two albums" conversation will get started any minute.

Despite their lack of great material for awhile now though, I think this is a great song. Along with "King", "Pig", and "The Spider", it's totally worth picking up the Deluxe Version of the Red Album, instead of the shorter 10 song version. I'm looking forward to seeing them play live again this year, and I hope they bust out more theatrical stuff like this.

Thank you for not letting me down :)

Okay, so I really hated this song for the entire first verse. Then the chorus kicked in and ...

... well okay. I was ready for it to suck, expecting it to suck. Now I think I'm going to have to go and buy this one.

DoblerMeyer: Deluxe Version of the Red Album

Noted. Will do. Thanks.

My best friend, a general contracting project manager that desperately wants to fark his current owner's rep gets a hell of a kick out of "Miss Sweeney".

After reading many a fark comment about how the red album sucked, maybe my expectations were lowered, but I thought it was damn good. Its Weezer for sure. I did get the deluxe version also and I am glad I did. I don't understand why there were two versions to begin with. The deluxe should have just been the album.

The Red Album was really good. Certainly no Pinkerton or Blue, but still very good. In fact, Weezer has yet to put out a truely bad album in my opinion. While Make Believe is by far their worst album, it still beats the fark outta most other music being produced now.

/great video
//buy the delux edition, its worth it.

I thought it said Mike Sweeney, who's got the dirtiest name in baseball.

/ Say it fast 3 or 4 times

You've forgotten Rusty Kuntz (pronounced Koontz) and Johnny Dickshot.

Miss Sweeney is the best song on the whole album. I really wish they would have included it on the "regular" version of the Red Album. It has a bit of "Suzanne" in it, but at least it sounds like Weezer.

It's odd, that apart from Pork and Beans, the four 'bonus' songs are the best four songs on the album. No idea why they weren't on the record proper!

I wanna have Rivers' baby.

that is all.

Agreed. Red Album is worth a buy if for nothing else than to hear the last 4 tracks. King is by far my favorite track on that album (Damn, I did NOT know that Scott had such a good voice).

I enjoyed Red album. They're really starting to work as a band now instead of Rivers just walking in and plopping songs on the desk and saying "We're playing these." His lyrics are a bit sillier now, but I still enjoy them. They make me smile a little while I groove to the music. It's a good fun-time album, and as someone else said also, about 99% better than what else is out there. At least it's not canned hip-hop/cock rock/pop.

I thoroughly enjoy just about everything Weezer has put out, yes even the last 4 albums. I even threw on Green Album after Red came out and I really started getting into it and digging it.

/Also can't wait to see them on tour
//Will be third time seeing them

Ya know Melanie, if you stay up for 48 hours straight, get completely plastered, turn out the lights, and squint really hard, I still look absolutely NOTHING at all like Rivers Cuomo. However, I admire your taste in good musicians, so if you'd like to have one of my babies, I will gladly provide my services free of charge :)
