... or they have so much "Fark You" money, they can do what they want.

Slash is loaded & Bach is the biggest metal geek on the planet (check out the Cribs episode with him. His entire house is a KISS shrine)

which one of the two has "fallen" to work with the other?

Sad? I expect it to kick ass.

He must be helping Sebastian smuggle more weed across the border.

Guns N' Rowses?

Skid Roses?

Keep trying, Slash, you'll find a new singer, but Sebastian Bach isn't the answer.

I figured Sebastian Bach was working on "Chinese Democracy" because it's taking 18 to life.

/thank you, thank you

People from the Midwest and New Jersey need music too.

Sebastian would certainly be a step up from Axl.....and realistically in metal terms a step up from Scott Weiland as well.

/Slash is highly over-rated anyway, IMO

fastbow 2008-06-26 10:52:30 AM
This really is a step down for Bach. After all those beautiful fugues and concertos, to be working with a hack like slash...

I guess being a zombie changes everything.
/Zombie Bach!

What is this talk about Bach being better because he's more metal? Sebiatchian Bach can crawl into a hole and die for all I care. He had one hit album as part of a band and he's been hanging on to that 14:59th second for what, 21 years?

VR's first album Contraband was great, but Libertad was a big disappointment. Sebiatchian Bach isn't going to correct that. VR needs to decide on a direction because whatever genre they are in, Libertad was NOT metal.

Sebastian Bach has been doing Broadway. He hasn't been in Skid row in a long time (I had the unfortunate experience of seeing a Skid Row show at a pool hall in Baton Rouge some years ago, it was awful without Bach! They actually played (I'll Remember You" twice!)

Both of these guys are immensely talented, and I have high hopes for the project!

Was it a mistake, limited encore choices, or were they doing "different versions?" Or were they stone out of their minds?

It was the electric version, then some other song, then the acoustic version. This was not the encore, it was just sheer pandering.

errrr... not this.

ftfa: Bach said the Slash project was "mind-blowing," but that he had been sworn to secrecy and nothing was happening right now.

the first rule of secret projects....

Those two dudes both have so much money that they can do whatever they want.

They are just trying to keep busy in life.

I can't remember a single song of theirs, and others feel free to correct me, that was centered on a campy or bs theme (see: "unskinny bop" or "girls, girls, girls" for reference). That alone stands out for that era!

rocinante721: I have no clue what you did there

Okay, it is SAT review time:
KISS is to Metal as
Schwinn is to motorcycles.

The hidden meaning is that just as schwinn does not make motorcycles, KISS does not make metal.

Live After Death 2008-06-26 12:31:27 PM
I hope subby is aware Bach has been releasing albums in Japan and South America the entire time. Also, as previously mentioned, doing Broadway leads in Jekyl & Hyde and Jesus Christ Superstar.

Just because Metal was not popular here for so many years doesn't mean it wasn't popular in the rest of the world.

/suck it

there is actually 2 versions of the song released, the original ballad version off the first record in 89 with sebastian bach singing and the punked up version released somewhere around 2002 on the album thickskin with johnny solinger singing on it , that version is called "i remember you too" . johnny solinger has actually been in the band now longer than sebastian bach (88-95) ever was.

/ looking forward to seeing skid row live on july 4th

There's an even deeper hidden meaning in the analogy that I was hoping at least one motorcycle geek would get. Of course now that the cat is out of the bag, anyone with Google skills can probably get it.

bach's been busy AND he still has the pipes. i expect nothing but heavy flippin' screaming metal out of this. obviously there are others who agree this is a long overdue collaboration.

Bach may be an ass, but he has great farking pipes. If they can get some good songwriters, it will be good, as long as they take it in the right direction. They need Steve Albini to produce it or something.

Actually, there is a rumor that Slash is talking with Bach in an attempt to have Bach talk to Axl about getting Axl and Slash to start working together again. Bach and Axl had become close friends in recent years.
