I love Pearl Jam. I loved them even more when they were called Journey.

PATS0707 2008-06-24 10:46:38 AM
WOW i remember in 1997 you were kinda cool but not worth my time.

ComicBookGuy 2008-06-24 10:47:13 AM
I remember someone from Green Day made the comment about Pearl Jam: "If they want to lower ticket prices, why don't they just take a smaller cut?" (I paraphrase)

Ofc, that is impossible.

danlpoon 2008-06-24 10:48:39 AM
I remember someone from Green Day

I like Green Day. I liked them better when they were called The Clash and didn't hate our freedom.

SonicReducr 2008-06-24 10:50:13 AM
Was a good show... 31 songs, 2 hours 45 minutes. Great crowd. Yay for DC.

/was my 34th PJ show
//two more to go this tour.

waggz 2008-06-24 10:51:12 AM
Eddie - go back to 1992 when you were relevant.

/It seems that your ticketmaster boycott has had a real impact as well.

Dorf11 2008-06-24 10:52:32 AM
It's not often a guy like Neil Young lets a backup singer spout political views.

/hey ho, away we go

Ahhh, Green Day. The Punk Rock tribute band who brought the stage-to-crowd "snot rocket" back into music vogue.

Edsel 2008-06-24 10:55:32 AM
I liked them better before their lead singer blew his head off.

Not to mention, he often sounded like he was stoned in interviews.

was my 34th PJ show

I saw them once with Creed, Bush, Silverchair, SoundGarden, Stone Temple Pilots and Incubus.

They all sang the same song, I think.

DRTFA, but this sounds exactly like what happened at Lollapalooza last year.

I genuinely DO like Neil Young.

Ahhh, Green Day.

Green Day are posers of posers. Third generation posers. Their songs aren't too bad. Obviously written by "staff".

But their flannel shirts were different patterns.

I was mad when they got rid of the rat's nest hairstyle and decided to 'change their image'. Poison Jam was way better than Pearl Jam.

I liked the Clash when they were the Skatalites.

luckybastard 2008-06-24 11:02:45 AM
They did All Along The Watchtower, huh?

Can't our generation come up with enough of its own angry political songs?

SangamonTaylor 2008-06-24 11:03:01 AM
While I'm a Texas oilguy who wants to expand offshore drilling, I also tend to agree with Ed on many issues (especially Save our Seas...yes we can drill offshore safely without negative environmental impacts). But his ranting about "BigOil" is just clueless. Where would Eddie be without his songs about cars? (Rearviewmirror, MFC, Gone)

Ed always seemed like a truly independent guy, so it's disappointing to hear about him regurgitating Democratic talking points...seems a bit lazy and uninspiring to me.

we_hates [TotalFark] 2008-06-24 11:03:20 AM
I don't care if musicians want to preach from the stage, but I can't help but wonder if there isn't some other way they could express their viewpoint.

danlpoon 2008-06-24 11:05:19 AM
But their flannel shirts were different patterns.

Remember the Great Flannel Shortage of 1990 when people were being violently skinned of their lumberjack costumes? Scary. I was attacked once. I was like, "Leave me alone! It's chamois!".

I liked the Clash when they were the Skatalites.

I love ska. I loved it even more when it was called polka.

Do you hate yourself that much to go to a show like that?

Points for STP and SG, but I'm guessing this was long after their suckitude began.

Polonius_In_Drag [TotalFark] 2008-06-24 11:13:22 AM
Leave Ed alone!

/Liked PJ better when they were called Mother Love Bone and Eddie was actually 5' 2' with long blonde hair and a Freddie Mercury complex

danlpoon 2008-06-24 11:14:47 AM
Do you hate yourself that much to go to a show like that?

I was kidding. I picked a handful of bands that all sound the same and created a word-story that had me confused over their similarities during a concert where they all performed.

Funny? Obviously not. sorry.

danlpoon 2008-06-24 11:15:25 AM
But I will say my favorite live preformance was Alice Cooper followed by Pink Floyd.

He's got a point : Bush is an a-hole.

I can't believe that dumbass was elected President twice. He can barely string together a comprehensible sentence.

Goes to show that the vested interests (oil) are very powerful.

I liked the Clash until their drummer started buggering retarded little boys.

Ten years ago I would have been in the crowd and totally eating this up with my passionate little twenty-year old brain. Now it's just tiring, even though I'd probably agree with him on most of his political views. All of the talking just leads nowhere. Play some music, Eddie.

That's what caused me to buy their albums. Go figure.

Anywhere there's pollacks there's polka and screen doors.
