I'd be terrified if they'd use any other kind of tape.
I just hope they have a couple of cans of WD-40 on hand as well.

I figured I'd be the first one to snuff it in a zombie plague outbreak. I'd rather be the first than the last.

FTFA: "It's an enhancement," said Patrick Stockton, CDC safety and occupational health manager, as he and four other agency officials took a reporter to see the door Wednesday.

"We could take it off."

We could take it off any time, dammit! Any time!! We just don't want to right now.

When my man was working for Schneider trucking company he made an awesome discovery. Schneider has their own bright orange duct tape! And they had it out to their employees like candy. He used it to decorate his old laptop.

We could take it off any time. We don't think you want us to, though. Give us, say, another few millions in funding, you know, just to make sure the tape stays ON.

"include licensing the sale of knives that are not intended for preparing food."

That's just silly. Well, our buddies across the pond have been going off the deep end for quite a while now.

Worst. TV movie. Evar.

I only watched to the end because it was fascinating how crappy the script was. I'm pretty sure an 8-year-old wrote it.

Maybe the focus should be .."Why are you working on bioterror bacteria?" vs "Why are you holding said bacteria in with duct tape?"

taurusowner 2008-06-22 08:45:42 PM
They actually use a duct-tape like tape to seal their own biohazard suits when in a hot area. It's standard practice.

ParliamentFunkadelic: Maybe the focus should be .."Why are you working on bioterror bacteria?" vs "Why are you holding said bacteria in with duct tape?"

Probably because to create a treatment for said bacteria you have too work with and see what makes it tick.

Gaffer tape.

Couldn't afford it, only used that when it was going to be visible under the lights. When we needed to hold up a flat from behind, rig a light with no tether, had a 60-ft cable that only had to go five feet--duct tape.

Gaffer tape is too pricey when you work for Equity-waiver in downtown LA.

spamdog [TotalFark] 2008-06-22 08:59:47 PM
Duct tape is apparently used pretty frequently for sealing up bio suits and vents etc. I'm sure it would be surprisingly effective too.

Cup_O_Jo 2008-06-22 08:59:58 PM
Nice. I always said the way that all of the Southeast will die is an accident at the CDC. However, I never expected it to be from our own hands..and ya know what. There is a mysterious cough going around the Atl metro area..and doctors are having issues diagnosing it. Makes ya wonder huh?

ignite ice 2008-06-22 09:00:40 PM
I believe duct tape was used.

KeatingFive 2008-06-22 09:00:48 PM
We should find something lots more expensive and fancy-sounding that doesn't work as well, and use THAT.

AR55 2008-06-22 09:01:57 PM
In the CDC's defense the deadly germs would probably get stuck on the tape's adhesive before escaping.

Danger Avoid Death 2008-06-22 09:04:14 PM
AR55: In the CDC's defense the deadly germs would probably get stuck on the tape's adhesive before escaping.

And then mutate into a duct-tape killing super-virus that would cause the whole world to fall apart.

taurusowner: They actually use a duct-tape like tape to seal their own biohazard suits when in a hot area. It's standard practice.

Yeah, which makes me wonder if what they had on the door was regular duct-tape, or the 'sticky-tape' normally used on the suits and such.
