I don't know.. The latin "Yes We Can" is a cool touch.

The republicans are just mad that they didn't think of it first.

It's image association. People associate the presidential seal with Obama, then they associate the presidency with him by proxy. It's great advertising.

I don't see what the big deal is. I think the Republicans are just jealous that even seals think Obama is awesome.

I guess the republicans should update their seal

This is stupid. I wish I could bottle them up because then I'd be the Saudi Arabia of stupid. I would then organize a meeting with all the other people who sold stupid and we'd form OSEC; the Organization of Stupid Exporting Countries. We'd form a cartel, wear those rags on our heads which people would think are stupid and we'd be filthy rich. We'd be so rich that I'd build a ski resort in the middle of a desert. Is that stupid? DUH! Of course it's stupid you retard! It's almost as stupid as George W. Bush but I'd do it anyway and if anyone asked me why I'd say it's because I control the world's supply of stupid, which is this. Stupid.

I'm struggling to understand why it is surprising or wrong that candidates for president would employ a seal similar to that of the president. Am I missing something?

FTFA: "This is too serious a contest about too serious of issues for a candidate to be playing make-believe on the trail," said Brian Rogers, a spokesman for presumptive Republican nominee John McCain.

Apparently serious issues include what his opponents seal looks like and if he's playing make believe on the campaign trail.

Cool your jets, fark hasn't been infiltrated by the hillaryis44 crowd. I suspect that the modadmin types are just cracking down on some of the more rabidly crazy contributors on fark. plenty of those on both sides of the aisle, no conspiracy needed!

And yet danploon/McCainDemocrat is still here, and he really ruins threads quickly. At least Fark is protecting us from teh boobies!

Actually, I rather like McCainDemocrat. It's rather enjoyable watching him have a slow motion mental breakdown. I really shouldn't enjoy it as much as I do, but there you go.

There are other folks whom I would be less kind though. I shall not speak it's name, but there was one fine gentlemen who accused me of being a socialist (while quoting Ayn Rand at the time). that individual does little to add to any discussion and we could well do without it's 'contributions'.

Not to worry. The real crazy stuff won't show up until we get closer to the party conventions. then the modadmins will start hatin' life.

I remember reading political threads during the '04 elections. It was a veritable smorgasboard of stupid.

My only real hope for this year's elections is that I really really really hope nobody takes a shot at Obama. That would be all sorts of bad. I mean, any assasination attempt is, by definition, 'bad'....but it would be 'bad' times 10, divided by zero.

Oh, I don't mind trolls sometimes if they are over-the-top and funny, like SunnyRay. The problem? It just isn't funny anymore and its getting f*cking annoying when he derails the the thread so quickly.

But of course, the old saying goes: this is going to get worse before it gets better. At least we don't have our tie caught in a hot dog machine.

As a great fark you, Obama should stamp all his campaign announcements with this now... in fact he should just keep a stamp around and put his seal on anything that'll hold ink.

He should do that while wearing a suit made out of flag pins and a giant cross necklace around his neck.

We let Obama do whatever he wants to the seal, and in return, we get back the 4th amendment.

The modmins are far too generous when it comes to trolls. They need to just outright ban obvious trolling alts- and suspend the main account for a week or two so the asshat doesn't try it again.

New meme for Republicans on fark? Sounds like a good one to me.

I don't think that an alt posting 40 times in a thread actually generates ad clicks.

I think these days Fark is about traffic and high comments. Trolls give them that. I haven't seen anything in the last year that's about anything other than profit, or other company-oriented goals. There's a lack of respect for loyal viewers--I don't mean a disrespect, necessarily, sort of an absence either way. It's starting to feel like Amazon, where you know people are running the show, but you can't believe they're human.
