I'll give them a B+ for effort.

The way they kept letting their bows slide over the fingerboard makes me doubt that it's completely real

obviously it's video over a pre-recorded audio track.. like most any music video, capten oblivious lol

It's the dance version of Sweet Dreams (Are Made of These) done on violins. Pretty cool.

This is... not bad, except it's hard to take this video seriously, given that its a bunch of 5 yr olds doing the goofy dancing that 5 yr old kids do. Combine that with "grab that special lady and bring her to the dance floor" and the overly serious intro by the guy on the left and its. I dunno. Too many concepts at once? Sure, its fine to have a great song with kids acting silly, but how does that work with a fairly mature beat that some backpack rappers might like? I'd listen to it, but the video is poorly done.

Uh... DJ's already spin violin-influenced hip hop, and that works fine. Hip hop-influenced violining doesn't quite work as well. DJ Anybody can make (sadly) better sounding tracks using fake violins (a la Venetian Snares, crazy hyper classical electro-whatever).

B for effort, and that they actually PLAY an instrument.

That was a fun little video. Fark just made a sale... I downloaded their album off of emusic.

That's real nice too. I almost feel sad for the bozos who can't appreciate it. Not really though.

Well, I'm an old bag, and I liked it. But it made me wonder--how did 2 violin guys get into hip hop, or vice versa? Did they decide, after their parents spent a wad of money for years of violin lessons, that they decided to be hip hop violinists? I mean, there's a violin tradition in classical, or country, but hip hop?

My vote for finalists in "America's Got Talent". They were awesome.

It was like they took the notes from a production brainstorming session and did them all...

That's because it's video from "Jack's Big Music Show" on the Noggin Channel, you ninny. It's supposed to be kid-friendly and feature elements that children will like.

Yeah, and these guys are competing this year on "America's Got Talent", so expect to see a lot more from them before the year is out.

Cut 'em some slack. They're both in their teens. They've both studied @ Juliard. And they were willing to go on an educational kids' network.

Most of us have barely mastered whistling "Colonel Bogey March" from Bridge on the River Kwai.

These songs are way better hip-hop songs with violins in them.
