Is it my dream? Because my dream involves Toby Keith falling down a well.

I wonder how many rednecks who loved "that boot in their ass song" burned their Dixie Chicks albums because they expressed political views, and they should just be "entertainers."

I'm waiting for his new tune to come out about a month prior to the election: "God Bless America, not God Damn America"

/I'm Toby Keith, and I approve this message.

Don't stay at Harrah's in Las Vegas and don't visit Toby Keith's bar there. Both are rancid dumpsters.

People like to trash on Keith, but I actually like the guy and most of his music. The whole feud with the Dixie Chicks kind of branded the guy as something he isn't.

In truth, the guy considers himself a Democrat, and now admits that the Photoshop that he did of Natalie Maines and Saddam Hussein was pretty low, and that Iraq was obviously an orchestrated lie. I'll try to find a link to back that up, because right now it's just on my word.

But that song everyone keeps referencing, the "Angry American" and the infamous "...boot up your ass..." is misunderstood. He wrote it in response to 9-11, and what he considered would have been his fathers (as well as many other American's) feelings about the event. It really had nothing to do about Iraq, and despite what many people would like to admit, many American's WERE and still are feeling vengeful about that day.

Now, all of that said... I had the displeasure of watching that other CMT movie he did called "Broken Bridges," and it was completely terrible. In fact, the word "terrible" doesn't do the amount of bad I need to convey any justice. I don't think there is a word in existence that would do it. I don't think I could make up a word that could do it either.

In addition, every music video he does with any acting is even worse. And if the "plot" and "acting" from the video for "Beer for My Horses" is any indication of how this is going to turn out, it's going to kill us all with suck-a-tude.

Toby narc'ed on Willie.. he went on the Colbert Report and told some story about all the weed that's smoked on Willie's tour bus, and soon after Willie got busted.

Could have been a coincidence, but it was pretty suspicious.

Someone correct me if I have this story wrong. As if I have to ask around here.

Count me in as another TK defender. While I agree with the Dixie Chicks' sentiment on Bush and Iraq, I can forgive him for being a little uberpatriotic after 9/11. He originally didn't even want to release the song as a single, but some guy in the military told him it was his "duty" to do so.

Well, it's true that Willy was busted soon after Keith's appearance on Colbert. But come on, it's not like the world at large didn't know Nelson and his bus mates regularly hot-boxed on the way to their next concert. He's admitted to it himself, on national TV and movies, multiple times over.

The guy is an old hippie. I'm sure the feds could figure out what was going on inside that bus without the televised testimony of Toby Keith.

People hate on TK because it's cool to be against anything that's even remotely patriotic as long as Republicans are in power.

Those horses are thinking, 'Damnit, Flicka. He only likes you more because you put out.'

Remember people, music is supposed to make you feel bad and should be used as a medium to biatch about how bad things are everywhere. Am I right Mr Geldof, Bono? But of you use music as a way to lift people up and make them feel good, then you are doing it wrong and squandering your gift. You can rap about beating women, shooting people, selling drugs, and getting revenge. However don't you dare sing about kicking someone's ass or revenge and wear a cowboy hat then are wrong. Thugs > Rednecks

/Double standards, the real American way

Um... No. Patriotic is cool. I consider myself very patriotic.

However, Bush and Cheney should be doing time in a dirty cell somewhere, not contemplating their memoirs while deciding what "consulting" job they are going to take to make them oodles of cash after they leave office.

I've found that most people that want to criticize country music do so by pretending to like Johnny Cash, when they in reality have never listened to more than "Ring of Fire" or "A Boy Named Sue" by accident. They think this gives them some sort of insider cred to make their criticism more valid.

Having watched "Walk the Line" on HBO doesn't make you a lifelong Cash fan.

Yes, everyone felt vengeful after 9/11. That song reminded me how wrong it was to be blindly and broadly vengeful.

I'm going to go with people hating on him because his music sucks. C'mon, what male country musician would write a POS like "I wanna talk about me"? If Johnny Cash and Hank Sr. were alive, they'd be putting a boot in his pansy ass.

1. I'm not a lifelong country fan, I just enjoy some (not all) of Johnny Cash's music, and think Toby Keith is a whitebred racist that sings about trucks, beer, and getting his stupid horses drunk.

2. I didn't watch it on HBO, I bought the DVD jerkoff.
