What the hell did Springsteen have against Russert?

I actually watched the memorial on MSNBC today, I was bored and it was on.
Man, if I could even have one person say anything half as nice about me someday as was said by all about Russert I'd consider myself to have succeeded in life.

/Russert's brother in law played a version of "born to run" on the guitar, acoustic and w/o vocals. it was pretty impressive.

Yes. I was expecting it to be just one of those "oh, here comes a relative to be indulged" kind of things, but wow.

Very impressive service all around, great words/anecdotes by all. I'm curious what Luke's going to do, career-wise.

That would be one of the greatest honors bestowed upon a human being. Not BS'ing.

The real rainbow outside after 'over the rainbow' played inside at end was.... wow.

Well he is in the Buffalo Music Hall of Fame (I think that's what I heard).

Luke is hosting an XM sports show with James Carlville as of now.

He was our Princess Diana and Springsteen is our Elton John.

Springsteen you say? Well, at least Russert didn't have to suffer through that.

Kept me up last night finding it randomly on msnbc...amazing speeches from Cuomo, Brian Williams, Maria Shriver, and especially his kid (since everyone else on stage was a long-time public-speaking professional and Luke is a fresh college grad)...didn't realize what the uncle was playing, but it seemed pretty cool whatever it was. Nice touch w/bruce coming on at the end, too.

Tim Russert should be on Rushmore and also he should have a statue beside Lincoln on the Washington Mall. Also his corpse should be presevered like Lenin inside of a giant pyramid coated in Platinum and we should all have the day of his death as a national holiday. Also, his death redeemed us of sin.

Like a cross between E.T. and Evita Peron.

As for the BMHOF, if you aren't going to induct The Enemies, you can go fark off! ;-)

Tim who?

No need to be sad. The way people are acting I'm expecting him to resurrect himself soon.

Nice guy, but overrated. Never held anyone's feet to the fire. People say he asked the tough questions but not in my opinion. Wish his family well.

After reading all the b.s. about him, pretty much THIS.

Sucks that he died young, he did alot with his life and good on him for that but other wise?

He was just a guy, no more, no less.

And all the 'star f*cking' from Sprinsteen?
So much for him being a 'man of the people'.

I think you are completely ignorant as to what the show was all about, but whatever.
