i'm a Phish-head and frequent user of drugs, so i'm really getting a kick out of these replies...

/what? no replies? oh, right... it's a Phish thread... nobody cares about them!
//your favorite band sucks, too.
///reunion time boys!!
////YEM FTW!

and, btw, congrats to Trey on kicking the habit and (hopefully) turning his life around. don't want to see him end up like Jerry, he's got too many shows left in him to play!

tethead: don't want to see him end up like Jerry,

Judging from the article, Trey was hooked on pharmaceuticals. Wouldn't have lived near as long as Jerry did.

J. Frank Parnel

Jerry went through heroin like it was candy as well as coke. I am sure what he was doing had a lot more adulterants than drugs from a real lab.

He went out at 53, which is a very young age.

Trey had heroin as well as "legal" opiates. Let us hope he doesn't have the relapses jerry had.

He should eat a couple of grams of shrooms and really think about what has transpired.

Come on... Oysterhead.

(Oysterhead 2001 is much much greater than the Police 2008)

Glenechocreek 2008-06-19 03:01:10 AM
What did the Phish-head say after the drugs wore off? "This music phsucks."

Interrupted Infinitum 2008-06-19 03:25:20 AM
I'm quite fond of Phish/Oysterhead so this is pleasing news to me.

/Kinda sad they stopped touring before I got into their music

A 46 minute song by Phish? Thanks but I'll take the lethal injection instead. Not the kind Garcia took, either.

Teddy Hopper 2008-06-19 09:53:36 AM
Well palyed, Subby. 46 minutes of wankery unless there were three particular other guys sitting in with him.

My "5 years til a reuninon" prediction is coming up. Hope I didnt underbid.

MessyDwarf 2008-06-19 11:06:33 AM
Ok, who recorded this, and where is the download?

Teddy Hopper 2008-06-19 11:40:00 AM
I've got it on a 3rd genereation 90 minute Maxell XLII.
You want a 4th gen? Its a little scratchy but you can totally hear the crowd cheering for the grads.

oh wait what year is it again?

Love that everyone thinks that a Phish jam spaces out for 45 minutes.

If they are playing for 45 minutes in a jam, something very serious is going down.

Sometimes a mere note bend in the middle of an arpeggio is all it takes (but I'll take both).

/Fluffhead FTW

6/22/95 - Canandaigua, NY

Set 2: Theme From the Bottom-> Tweezer-> Tweezer Reprise

An hour's worth of Tweezer jamming = every sterotype about jam bands made flesh.

Teddy Hopper 2008-06-19 02:00:52 PM
Uzzah: ...every sterotype about jam bands made flesh.

What does that mean? Made true or made false? Exemplified? Or something I havent even considered? Like turned into porn?

Because the porn-funk era didn't hit hard 'til '97.

Jerry's dead, Phish sucks, get a jorb

The Glass Dragon 2008-06-19 02:13:52 PM
I used to be a Phish fan. I don't have any of their stuff anymore (lost em while moving between apartments), but as far as studio albums I liked everything up to Story Of The Ghost. I sort of moved away from them after that.

Only got to see them once live. It was interesting. I think I was the only person there who wasn't stoned out of my mind.

I used to be a die-hard Phish fan through the early nineties, but got bored once it seemed like they weren't working very hard at music anymore. (They became a caricature of themselve...read: just like the million jambands trying to be them) I figured it was probably b/c of drugs. It turns out I was right. I'm so glad to hear that he's clean. Perhaps he can get back to being one of the most inventive, inspired, hard-working musicians I've ever seen. Oh...and for all you haters, please give the album "Junta" a good listen.

Stray Slacker 2008-06-19 04:18:28 PM
So... after all these years, I still don't have an answer. What the hell do I do with these hundreds of tapes? Seriously. What the hell.
